Yes out of state a**holes move here when they retire for affordable coastal properties and they bring their garbage politics with them. During COVID we got inundated with "flatlanders" moving to the state and now nobody can afford a home. This is not a unique story to Maine. Look at Montana and Texas and Alaska.
All that red and pink is nudged out by the amount of libs in the big blue cities. I cannot wait for the red wave to hit this country and our children begin learning conservative values in school. Liberalism is a plague.
Maine is a beautiful state. Love vacationing there. But I think that most residents are isolationists that are easily manipulated by a small few of progs that make it to state government.
Influx of non-natives, broken voting system, dense populations of city dwelling mouth breathers, oldest population in the country ( some maybe easily manipulated) are my top reasons for the state we're in. Some are isolationists but these policies are ruining rural communities and people are waking up fast
I worked there and tried to warn so many coworkers. But they had this idea like, it can’t happen here. I told
Then Portland is going to spread like a cancer.
Me and my friends flipped Oklahoma from deep blue to the redest state in the nation. It didn't happen by accident,I was tons of work. We started with a small group of about 20 people and built and built it up. We went from never winning to never losing and it took about 10- 15 years.
I can tell you how we did it if your ready to do it,and have the time and dedication.
I'd genuinely love to hear any strategies you found effective. We have a group who meets weekly to discuss politics and local issues. We all aren't shy about spreading truth and dropping red pills wherever possible. Time to commit is a factor but I will pass on your information to our group to see if we can make a greater impact.
We ran people for state wide office, and they traveled around meeting people and talking to small groups. And we built things up. We got lucky with the assault weapons ban, back in 1996. That pissed a lot of people off. Main thing is you have to find good candidates to run,we took the voting data based and had people look at the names in their voting area. If they were well known and registered republican we would talk them and promise to help them run their campaigns. And we did. My brother worked the data bas and printed off the mailing labels,we had groups of old ladies who would put them on the mailers and the postage. We could run a local campaign for less than 5 grand. And we would help them raise the money.....
That's a good start,I have to go to work or I would type more.
No problem. I was also pretty low,I made signs and drove a lot of T posts. I went to all the meetings wear we discussed strategy. But I was not the leader. If you guys make a serious effort,I can try and hook you up with them. Several have moved and died, but I still know of a few.
We absolutely have problems, and I don't believe for a second that Mills was elected legitimately. Ranked choice voting needs to go away, but to be clear, it is not used in our gubernatorial elections. It's actually unconstitutional here, but the state constitution doesn't preclude its use in elections at the federal level, so it has not been struck down entirely.
I am aware that ranked choice is not used for the Governor's race. I was referencing it as an example of one way voter fraud may be happening in the State and because the map I used as an image was the 2024 Presidential election results (where as you know it is used). Good clarification though. And I agree that Mills didn't win without cheating on some level.
Maine thins out really quick. Most of the state has less than 5 people per square mile. Most of Maine, simply put, has no political power. The entire state will go with the misguided whims of the coast. As a proud Mainer, I am sure you realize this.
Considering the breakdown of population by county, yes the coastal counties tend to be larger population and blue. However in the 2016 presidential race Killary won by only roughly 20,000 votes. Then suddenly Biden gets a big surge in votes in 2020, roughly 75,000 more than Trump. Now the 2024 election, Kamala gets roughly 57,000 votes more than Trump... That's a good chunk of those "blue counties" voting red and a lot of people changing their vote even if you figure there was no voter fraud ( which I believe there was). Those coastal cities are also where they drop off all the immigrants, further tipping the scales. In 2024 Trump got 46% of the popular vote in Maine, meaning a lot of those votes had to have come from within those historically light blue counties based on your observations about population by area. Again this doesn't account for fraud and based on the man beast Mills and the Maine attorney General Shannon Bellows trying to keep Trump off the ballot, I'm guessing we'll be finding out soon exactly how far they would go to alter the vote against him.
Also probably not a coincidence that Janet Mills was put into office January of 2019 and those vote totals change dramatically for the presidential race the following year.
And yet 45.46% of the people voted for Trump. Do you still live in Maine? If not, that may be a contributing factor as well. I'm not sure of the exact numbers but many people born here tend not to stay (for a variety of reasons I'm sure)
A handful of comments I have been seeing from a variety of users in some other posts, mostly since Janet Mills messed with the bull and got the horns from Trump. I guess it could be taken as "aggressive" but really just a fact check on some folks conflating a bad Governor with a bad state.
Ranked Choice is a big fat scam. I've heard they want to try to get it in Michigan too.
I don't know how it is even allowed at all.
We have it in Minnesota.
It's a scam.
Amen. Go Black Bears. Ranked choice voting is the preferred voting system of communists. Your enemy is identified and the battle has begun.
Ranked Choice Voting should be outlawed since it is NOT one-day voting. We (Alaskans) hear your pain, Mainers.
They absolutely did.
I think the States need their own Electoral Colleges where each county gets a certain number of electors. That way the big cities can't run the show.

or declare yourself independent
play chicken with the libs

If you want to be certain the children learn conservative values, homeschool them.
Waiting for global warming to melt the ice caps and flood them out of their coastal pardise. 3....2.....1...../s
As a Californian, I fully agree and support you. I also pray for you

A system primed for fraud and abuse.

Ah, ranked choice sucks.
"Ranked choice voting" - 'nuff said right there. That kind of shiznit should be illegal or at least forced to be up on a ballot for referendum.
Fix your state, like we did Oklahoma.
Valuable insights frog, I'll get right on it

I didn't think anyone is dumb enough at this point to believe he was actually elected without fraud.

Here's Tucker talking to some real Mainers for reference.

Sounds like we need a Constitutional Amendment.
"One Citizen, one vote. Proof of citizenship required."
Truth
Oprah got a house up their on the south coast.
How many more days till she's out?
Nov. 3rd 2026 is our next election for governor. Check out our last Governor Paul LePage. He held mych closer to the views of the average Mainer.

Fuck Maine./
Just kidding. I'm in NJ so obviously I can relate.
😅
I'm from maine, those red counties are about 20 percent of the population.

Why such an aggressive post. I've never heard anyone say Maine was a lost cause.
