If Dan is writing this, there must be something at play. At the very least, narrative seeding. Could be sooner than some think. At the speed in which Trump team is moving, it could actually happen sooner than many think possible.
This is paving the path toward real freedom. If this really happens, the next step must be to move states to do likewise. No state income tax and no local real estate tax. Mandate DOGE audits from top to bottom.
I live in Tennessee and we have no state income tax. It's what draws a lot of people to move here from their respective blue states. However, we do have sales tax and property tax, and I just paid mine this week to the tune of about $1,100 for a medium size house on 1 acre.
Some years ago the Democrats in our state legislature tried to create an income tax, but it was loudly shouted down by the citizens and we've heard no more about it. Democrats... go figure. Always ready to vomit into the punch bowl at the party.
$1,100 an acre is practically free. Lots of places are 5-10x that, easily.

He has an Accounting degree and is meticulous with facts/details...he knew they were wrong. He found their error, used the Accounting term to identify it for them in his response (instead of assuming they were correct and paying). The IRS response: we need time to review and we'll get back to you. Shut.them.down. already!

I live in NJ, which has the highest property taxes in the state. Our house is fully paid off but we're paying the equivalent of a mortgage payment on it. Can't wait to see this all at a local level. Our taxes pay for police and school personnel, and they live very well. Edit to correct error above. Highest property taxes in the country, not state.

SCOTUS already castrated the IRS effectivity with the “Black Summer” rulings on 6-27-24 Admin tax courts unconst., 6-28-24 Chevron Doctrine strikedown of all IRS “rules and regulations” not laws, and 7-1-24 stripping of immunity for all IRS employees for “unofficial acts” which include enforcing nonlaws.
There are numerous paths the make the IRS irrelevant via EO, but audit needs to be completed prior to permanent abolishment. However, it would be perfect if IRS got abolished on April, 15, 2025.
I can only hold off for so long finishing and sending our taxes in, along with what we are going to owe😒
File as needed to hit deadlines, then follow up with 1040-X/Form 4852 one year at a time to amend/revise as you have time. It is not a trivial effort, but becomes easier and faster as you figure it out. Pick year that is on the “5-year Oct15 bubble” first. That would be 2020 right now.
Then come forward to present, then go 2019 backward to 2009, then 2008-1998, etc in 10 year blocks if you still have those returns. Otherwise you can use Social Security statements that show “taxable earnings” to estimate taxes paid in those years if needed to ask for full IRS refund.
