I've contemplated picking one up for cheap once the battery pack has died and dropping a v8 or v6 into it with a stick and redo the dash with real gauges and manual controls instead of the touchscreen. It's already been done, but I still think it would be sweet ride.
Thought along similar lines with one of those Porsche Taycans. You can pick them up for not much coin once the drivetrain pukes and then drop in the drivetrain of something more reliable, like an early 00s Jeep.
Already have too many projects on the burner right now though.
