Every lose a cell phone ? Damn that shit hurts, I did once and today, almost ran one over while taking a bike ride at night. That thing was lit up like a billboard and I could not miss it. So I slowed down and picked it up. Knowing somebodys life was FUBAR. So doing so, I did not have my cheater glasses so I couldn't see shit. So I looked around and saw the local BODEGA.
At this point I figured this is my best bet and headed over. Never been inside , however, the place was beaming and PACKED ! The community saw the door open and a giant white dude stepped inside and they welcomed me so ! I immediately smiled and reciprocated and asked if anyone had lost a phone . . . .
Damn, did that place light up !!! They had all gathered HERE to help find the lost phone and here it is. I just walk through the door!!
They were super cool, called the phone as I held it , it RANG !!! ta da , problem solved man . They and I were super pumped man, had no Idea it would lead to this, next thing, cars are pulling in and more cars pulling in and now we have a celebration and the community jjust showed out man. They brought food and beer and music and the whole deal.
I have never been so honored to feed back a lost item or such. WOW, the local community, that I never knew existed is fantastic, they know who I am now, and I am going to a few parties this weekend and they are really the best ! MAGA !!!
Is this an AI story? I’m so confused. Did sandman came and took you to his realm?
No, riding a bike, I saw a cell phone, picked it up, went to local Bodega next to me and walla. Inside the Bodege they had been actively looking for the persons phone. Enter ME, throught the front door . . . TA DA. . . Huge party as the locals show up to celebrate the unthinkable !!! Was awesome, community is where its at friend. . . !
Wow, just sounded so surreal. You must be in a big city like TN perhaps? Or Texas? Sounds like a novel 😂😂 Cos where I am everyone stays indoor.
Thats the thing, nope, local Florida sea side average nowhere ville USA . America Baby !, thats what turned out AMERICA.
WE LOVE EACH OTHER NO MATTER WHERE WE ARE !
I love this story! You were in exactly the right place at the right time! We call that a Godwink! ✨
Now, you have new friends in your community and community is extended family! Well done kona! 👏
Joys1Daughter, thank you for your support, this one goes deeper. Because when I walked into the bodega I saw the faces on the community, and they were so concerned. When I asked if anyone had lost a phone, it was remarkable. The entire packed community was hanging on the balance. Then , the phone I was holding rang. !!! They all went insane , like the lottery insane. That was when they knew their child, friend, brother, neighbor was vindicated. I was shocked. Not only then, but the other folks in the Bodega were in line and supporting. I MEAN, BLACK , WHITE, BROWN, ASIAN, INDIAN, YOU NAME IT !!!. I have no words for that, its the reason I posted and am in awe, AMERICA TURNED OUT and they LOVE us and you and . . . THE END.
I can only imagine..losing a phone is so bad because they are our lifeline! Glad you had such a great experience!
"I can only imagine..losing a phone is so bad because they are our lifeline!"
Not all of us, freind.
"walla"? You mean "voilà"?
In Washington state they say “walla walla”
Forum sliding horseshit spam. DEPORT!
Of all of the dumb shit that gets posted here, this one actual good story is the one you choose to pounce on?
Sounds like the phone has evidence of wrongdoing and everyone is hoping that the authorities don’t wind up with it. Although the authorities would probably lose it again anyway. Sorry, I’ve developed a cynical streak over the past 60 years or so. I also had to look up bodega, fwiw.
If it were, then instead of saying 'man', it would have said 'problem solved computer' and 'the community just showed out computer!'
jk...I have no clue whether things are AI or not any more
Dude, no offense, but this reads like an ai prompted to imitate jr college creative writing.
Reminds me of the joke:
A man lost his wallet at night and was busy searching for it under a street light. Some people stopped to help, but finally someone asked if he's sure this is where he lost the wallet. Man replied "no, I lost it in the park". "I'm looking for it here because the lighting is better."
Why were dozens of people in the BODEGA searching for the cell phone? Perhaps the lighting was better there.
I have to agree with Retaining_H2O. Why were they not outside looking. How long does it take to check inside a building. Sorry... nice story but it stinks.
Joys1Daughter 6 hours ago +3 / -1 I can only imagine..losing a phone is so bad because they are our lifeline! ......... THIS is the reason I refuse to get a smart phone. I have a small flip-phone with the few numbers I need in it and that is all! All my life-line data is on my desktop which runs linux;) I see EVERYONE around me get their life sucked out with there heads in their stupid phones and with no situational awareness. It is so sad.
I'm blessed not to have a phone.
Ditto, Scotty1954.
I was at a very crowded international conference at a hotel in Heathrow and I found an Apple iphone just sitting there on some steps. I was busy and didn't know what to do with it so just put it in my pocket. Eventually it rang and although it was noisy and the caller had a strong accent I guessed it must be the owner and I just kept saying "hotel reception".
I went there and found the lady owner, I expect she was thinking omg I'm marooned in a foreign country with no phone and all my stuff is on there. Never seen anyone so happy when I gave it back to her back she flung her arms around me and gave me a kiss lol.
Creating joy like that at no cost to oneself is indeed a gift from god.
Here's a tip - you probably have some kind of auto-lock on your phone with a fingerprint or face ID to unlock it but also these days you should lock your SIM card with a PIN. Even if someone cannot unlock your phone they can still remove the SIM and put it into a burner phone which will then receive authorisation texts from your bank and other places. Also for the same reason make sure you switch off notifications which show the content of your texts on the locked phone screen.
This sounds like AI and even if it’s not sounds like a shell what does this have to do with the Q movement? Why are you and your bot friends talking about a story about how the bodega community is so awesome and we’re all such great friends. It sounds like a complete bullshit. Some guy lost his phone and there was a search party hanging out at the local bodega instead of calling the phone and walking around in the street outside the bodega why are you here?
I was working at Kohl's while attending college in the early 2000s. Got a call from a customer who had lost her wedding ring that was a gift from her husband for an anniversary. I went to the floor to look for it. Found it laying on the carpet in the men's clothing dept. She was so happy she sent a letter to the store and the local newspaper. I was happy for her. My own wedding ring was lost when I used a public restroom and removed it to wash my hands, early 2000s also. When I went back in, it was not there, was devastated. I wouldn't consider keeping someone's lost items.
I found a phone once in a plowed field under powerlines. Assuming a line worker lost it. Couldn't get any info off it so I returned it to the carrier and they were able to look them up and called the person. All they did was accuse me of stealing it, they were adamant I stole it. I just walked out of the store.
I'm confused why an entire community decided to go into a small bodega to look for 1 person's phone. Like, how did everybody get notified? Why did they not have anything else going on more important than somebody else's phone? How could they not sweep a small grocery store before many people showed up?
Beautiful
I found one a few years ago in the street. Someone must have left it on their car and drove off. The phone was busted and beyond repair. I took it to the local AT&T store and asked them if they could get the Sim card back to the person and they said they would. Left it there with them. I do think all their info is on the Sim card so maybe that saved them a little time!
WOW! That story really is like some sorta life changing SIGNAL.
I'm not allowed to have nice cellphones... or sunglasses. Current record is 2 days flat. Backing up my truck I hear a crunch... oh shit, forgot I left my phone on the bumper. Off to Walmart to buy another cheapie. Set up the new one, email, Google, restore contacts etc.
Go fishing with my friend, catch a beautiful trout, pull out my brand new phone and take a picture of it and then toss my phone into the lake. 🤦♂️ My friend had some really good IPAs and weed. Nothing like sitting there holding a fish looking at it knowing that you have to go buy another phone and go through the hassle of setting everything AGAIN!
This did not happen lol
