I don’t understand why this would be specific to “IT companies” though - every medium to large corp. has IT departments and the majority of every one I’ve worked at is full of H1-B Indians and other foreigners. And a white female American in an IT department (or Product Manager role) at any company in America is damn near impossible to find.
IMO, Indians have a stranglehold on IT departments of American companies. Once the Indians get in there, they ONLY hire other Indians - it’s a total shut-out. I’ve seen this first-hand for decades and it disgusts me seeing these foreigners taking all these good-paying jobs away from Americans.
I saw this at GE. Found out GE owned a part of Tata Consultancy Group in Mumbai. So they were paying themselves when they hired Tata people and didn't hire Americans. I don't know if GE still has any ownership in Tata.
So, GE f#%&=$ over America workers pretty good. Now you know. How many other mega companies did the same? How much money was earned here and sent back to India? Trillions?
So disturbing! We can add AA and Visa to the “foreigners first” list too. AA was even shielding CHINESE nationals who were employees (a.k.a. spies) at their corporate HQ who had overstayed their visa by a YEAR and they somehow kept them from getting deported back in Trump’s first term. I saw it first hand. Disgusting!
Why do you think I don’t have a job because people who are US citizens don’t have that chance. It is everywhere. I was not born here but it took me 10-11 to wait in my former country to become US resident and 6 more US citizen. Florida is hiring only illegals.
He needs to stop considering it and just do it. The IT industry has been completely taken over by Indians. And they only want to hire their own kind. They're some of the most racist people I've ever seen.
They are also kind of shit at actual support and engineering. They can follow an entry-level script for common problems, but as soon as things get real or a little bit difficult they fall right apart and immediately have to go to their favorite AI chat bot to solve it.
That's because they have no reasoning skills, though this is actually a problem a lot of people in IT, anyway. I've worked with people who think that, because solution A worked for problem A, it must work for problem B, too--when problem B has nothing to do with problem A. But yeah, Indians are the worst with using AI to do their job. And they don't even try to edit the code AI spits out. They just shove it into git and shrug when people complain it doesn't work.

Here's a thought: If Trump can justify declaring Information Technology a national security issue (and I think an argument can be made), firms specializing in it to produce any software product might be subject to the regulations applying to the defense industry: no non-citizens allowed to be in the production organization.
Now that's a good thought: whatever software is created for US citizens could have any number of (you fill in the blanks), therefore the America deserves some level of protection. I would bet OSs & updates are suspect. jmo

This is great! I worked in a Big 4 firm and they outsourced a ton of jobs to India and Mexico. They laid off the US workers. It was disgusting to see.
