Very welcome news. Just what this nation needs!
Eyes dont lie, I see an uptick in attendance at catholic mass on Sunday mornings.
I teach RCIA (OCIA) -- we've got double the number of people that we had last year. And last year was nearly double the year before that.
The majority are young adults. Single, engaged, newly married.
I am one of them. Hoping to be confirmed on Easter. Young people want the traditions and the sacraments. We donโt want watered down and weak Christianity. We see a world devastated by secularism, the Protestant attacks on the sacraments (marriage, the Eucharist, confession etc.) and that the end result of sola scriptura and the Protestant reformation has been chaos. We have churches worshipping Israel and the โnon binary godโ, in particular the Church of England has completely collapsed.
Also Catholics are dominating in apologetics, debates and theology online. I was convinced after watching a Pints with Aquinas debate about the Eucharist. The guy who he was debating went from Evangelical to Catholic after that. After reading the Bible and listening to guys like Trent Horne, Dr Taylor Marshall and Pints with Aquinas I decided to attend Mass.
I am looking forward to attending my first Traditional Latin Mass this weekend.
All of my friends are leaving Protestantism for Catholicism or Orthodoxy.
YES!!!!!
Here's the thing though; We MUST speak up!!! IF you see your church / priest doing something woke / anti-Christian; SAY SOMETHING!!!
We have to stop cowering in fear & silence and just being people pleasing "go along to get along, live & let live"
We MUST cut that shit out if we are to survive!!!
Christians, White People, Americans, Western Civilization; all of us need to stand up, speak out & take action!!!
Welcome into Christ. ๐โฆ๏ธโฆ๏ธโฆ๏ธ
I do. I am on FIRE for the faith and a return to tradition. We NEED it as a civilization. I am a huge advocate for the Society of Saint Pius X parishes and the Priestly society of Saint Peter parishes. I also love my Orthodox brothers and sisters in Christ.
We need tradition and the Bible. We need the Eucharist and stand firm for our faith.
There is something to be said for more traditional liturgical forms of worship. It is comforting to know what is coming and that one is of the same mindset as those around you - not to mention belonging to a larger group with a single purpose around the world all praying those same prayers.
I was raised Lutheran. Our services were very liturgical - much of it resembling its Catholic roots. I personally like the structure. That kind of service is more difficult to find within Protestant communities these days. In chaotic times I feel that many young people are seeking that kind of order and structure. God bless you and them. Congrats in finding your way home fren.
I was raised Presbyterian and went to a LCMS college. Lost my faith but came back two years ago. I cannot wait to receive the Eucharist
I am excited for you! You may have left Him, but He never left you. Praise God.
Welcome back. ๐ช
Personally, I'm literally, currently, moving from Presbyterian to Pentacostal.
TBF, the Presbyterian church is very weak example of a congregation, while the Pentacostal congregation is as "normal" and scripturally based as a fiery sect can be.
Good luck.
I never knew why we were Presbyterian. My parents just liked the church. It was overall a good church donโt get me wrong but it wasnโt deep enough for me. I was confirmed and everything yet they never brought up John Calvin. Now that I am older I think pre destination is heresy. My pastor there didnโt even preach it.
There are plenty of god fearing Protestants who are good people and live out the faith but that has been my issue with many Protestants. I often donโt get the WHY. Also being in the Seattle area I had a hard time finding a Church that wasnโt gay.
God bless you. You will likely love the Traditional Latin Mass. It almost feels like being in heaven.
Love this! If you're interested in some more on-fire theology online, check out the Institute of Catholic Culture, they are amazing. Also, the Byzantine Divine Liturgy is amazing - Matt Fradd is a regular I believe.
I am gonna do Dr Taylor Marshallโs St. Thomas of Aquinas course. I am reading his book Christian Patriot currently. Forward is by Harrison Butker the Kansas City Chiefs kicker. GREAT book about the Christian founding of our country and why we are a Christian nation and how we can take it back!
Nice, will check out his book, thanks for sharing! Just finished the Household and the Common Good course from the ICC - covered Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, & Aquinas. Got me into Aquinas.
Societal shifts usually always begin with the youth. They desire more substance than what they have been fed for years that seems so hopeless and chaotic.
Amen!
Tell me about it...I go to the 8:00 a.m. mass and the Church is full and people are looking for seats BEFORE Mass Starts!!!!!
Eight am! WOW.!
This could swing a lot of elections in the US, IF the vote counting mechanism is not rigged.
All other roads to happiness have been triedโฆ people found out those roads led nowhere but doom and gloom.
That is because the end destination of those roads is the same - hell.
This will trigger the pink hairs.
The attacks on Christianity will be intense. Jesus said his followers would be persecuted and slain as he was.
Where sin abounds, grace more abounds. We know the end of the story and God wins.
The Kirk Effect?
Upvote #47.
And many "end times" prophecies are coming true! It's a good time to accept the gift of salvation! (and contrary to many "christian" churches, you don't have to work to receive salvation!)
PCA churches are seeing a similar increase - Our church sees as many in Sunday school (almost) as we do in the main service, and our pastors are very gospel oriented. The PCA also has been bucking the trend of evangelical church decline, as well.

I was SO thrilled (bittersweet of course) to hear & see SO many people reporting that after Charlie Kirks' assassination, church attendance positively EXPLODED.
Does this mean - and can anyone comment - that people are sticking with it? they didn't' just go a few Sundays ago because Charlie, and then drop it?
They're continuing to come back & regularly attend church?
Can anyone speak to that?
My church, a Calvary Chapel church, has been growing during the past year. There was definitely a boost in attendance after the Kirk assassination, but I don't know if it has gone back to the previous growth rate.
Catechism class in my Orthodox Church is packed.
Absolutely Glorious!
It is good news.
The great awakening
Christian music sucked for as long as I can remember. In the last 5 years some really good bands have emerged and they're making great music. I have several non-religious friends that listen to Christian music now because it is so much better than the commercial crap that is popular.
It is very refreshing to see huge crowds of younger people at Christian rock events on weekends now.
