Good looking gate, I mended this one to keep the dark savages out of my backyard. I swear if another one gets through they're falling into my freezer! Damn neighbor keeps feeding them. Bunch of welfare recipients if you ask me. I yell at them constantly to get a job and help build society but they just stand around expecting hand outs.

It's 99% white where I live, 7,000 people in my county. First name basis with the sheriffs. Gun range up behind me, nobody here locks up their bicycle and we leave our vehicles running with the keys in the ignition whilst we run into the store.

I'm happy to not have fences around my house, plus I've built it so it is very energy efficient....8" exterior walls with 2" of foam board over that. All it takes is a small propane heater or wood stove to keep the whole house warm in the winter months.

Sad thing is, as a youngster here in SA, that's how we used to live...My friends and I were always outdoors, down at the little river we had, or on a friend's family farm, we were also 'Sea Scouts' learning to sail on the one of the lakes we have, amongst other 'scoutly things'...We only got TV here in 1976,(I was 14😎) and only for 4 hours a day in the first few years...2 hrs English and 2 hrs Afrikaans 😂😎
We grew up as kids should, Outside learning shit, not Xbox and Playstation all day like now....😉😎

I used to live in both central and south America. Steal bars on all windows, electric fences, and reinforced gates are all pretty much mandatory if you want to live an even semi western life inside. This was still true even 35 years ago when I was in South America for the first time. How bad was south Africa 20 or 30 years ago?
Years ago, it had to be on a TV show like 20/20 or 60 minutes, they showed armored cars with running boards that shot flames out to deter anyone getting too close to the vehicle...
