Back when the internet came out, it was common knowledge to approach it with the idea that "all women are men, and all children are FBI agents". Of course, that was at a time when dial-up ate up the phone line and the internet was an actual place in your house that you go to. Nowadays internet is way too accessible, to everyone. It's never been "safe" for children, but now is even less so. Children should not be using the internet, period. Send them to the library to read a book, it's much safer
All my children are adults now, mid 20's and 30's. Our rule was no cellphones until they were in college. That rule worked well for us. Now it seems like every child in middle school and high school has a cellphone with internet capabilities. I say that's insane.
Wow! Great parents should be a normal thing. There musta been some serious pushback from your kids, other parents with “what if there is an emergency” line.
I didn't have internet access myself until college. My friend had dial-up, but i had to wait until I could afford my own laptop and to borrow someone else's wifi
When my kids were in high school, all we had was dial up. Mostly text, no fun stuff, and it was incredibly slow. None of them had cell phones even in college. They're all adults now with their own children, and are very strict about internet and phone use. It's a good tool, but parents definitely need to be involved and monitoring what the kids are doing.
Or buy them books they will have for their whole lives. Look into Thrift Books, where you can get all the classics for three or four dollars. I'm getting wonderful big fat books for five dollars!!!!!
When our grandchildren were young, we would take them to the book store and let them pick out anything they wanted. They were mesmerized by all of the books. They learned to love books. There is something about cracking a brand new book open and smelling the pages. I resisted buying a kindle until we needed too many books to bring on vacation with us. The backpack got too heavy.
Over the last few decades, it feels like we've gone through a bunch of changes that have completely shifted how parents raise their kids. A lot of people have slowly given up the responsibility of really watching what their kids are doing or keeping them safe.
I get it though. With prices going up everywhere, most families need both parents working just to stay afloat. Everyone's tired, stressed, and trying to make it through the week. It's easier to hand a kid a screen and get a little peace. It started with TVs, then video games, and now it's phones and tablets.
What's frustrating is that there are tools to help parents keep their kids safe online, but most don't bother to learn or use them. Instead, we're seeing the government step in and use “child protection” as the reason to watch everyone's online activity. I think most of us know that's not the real reason, but people either don't care or don't want to admit it.
I'm not saying it's all our fault. We've been pushed in this direction for a long time. Still, it's hard to watch it happen and not feel a little sick about where things are headed.
My daughter had this behavior several years ago, now she is married with 2 children, blames me because I worked 2 full time jobs and a part time job to provide for the family, we can't win these days!
My jobs were with the Government, very dangerous, didn't know if I would make it home or not, didn't matter, but, my daughter is going to paramedic school, so at least she is following a little in my footsteps.
I hate when they call girls "young women". This gives no context. Are they six, twelve, fifteen, eighteen or twenty? I want to know!!! Kittens are not "young cats", nor puppies "young dogs." Conversely, I hate when someone calls a woman over forty a "girl". She is not a girl. A twenty, using the word "woman" is proper. Before that, no. OK, if she is in the military we can call her a woman at 18. Let girls be girls!!
agree, I would consider a girl, by age of 17 or so, could be called a young lady, under that, they are teenage girls, under that, they are girls, and under that, little girls. At 75, I just chuckle when someone refers to me as a "young lady", I joke back at them, "this is not going to get me to tip you" and then we all laugh.

Part 6 - Into the Abyss
The 764 network has fueled a global chain of murders, school shootings, and child exploitation in pursuit of chaos and societal collapse. As I continued my research, I began to realize the danger of staring into the abyss.

I was strict with the use of internet until my son was in high school, the public schools now a days demand that part of their "teaching" was to refer research to the internet, no more actual in depth reading and critical thinking, essays, or debates. He was on the debating team in high school, so he had to do research on some things. He was allowed to game at age 13, and no one here had a cell phone till a few years ago. He pouted, he was pissed off at me, but I kept him busy with other hobbies. Of course teens are going to look up stuff about sex, just like young boys for decades would sneak a Playboy magazine and share the pictures when they snuck off into the woods or a garage of their friends. You have to choose your battles, but I had a heart to heart with him at the age of 16 about looking up stuff like that, I told him that it was not like in real life, and to keep that in mind. He is a grown man now, and he seems to have a solid head on his shoulders, is respectful, and is more skeptical than I am about what is "on line". He was also raised going to church on Sundays, we have a balance. The one thing the internet has done for him was to make him an excellent cook, so we are all grateful for that, seeing that he loves to cook and eat. I can say without a doubt that raising a son seems so much easier than raising a girl, there are just so many more things to worry about, that, and the natural rebellion a girl has against their moms when they reach a certain age. You have to give them freedom slowly, with those re-tractor leashes, till they are 18, pulling it back when you see red flags, letting it loose when you know they must have the experience of real life consequences.
764 is a meme to excuse abused individuals extorting their perceived villains. Much of it is as fake as an alcoholics anonymous story, elements are incorporated into witness testimony to fabricate and sensationalize a rather simple exploitation technique.

That's good parenting.. these days I see 5 y.o with their own ipads
And every child denied a phone makes friends with those who have a phone.
Let me guess your child has a phone.....

You are correct. They need to go read a book. Everyone needs to read a book. I generally read 2. A Bible and a novel.

LOL. The music is good.
I didn't put internet in my home when my kids were in high school.
They would try to tell me they needed it to do homework and I told him the library was right down the road.
I didn't have internet till college. They'll survive.
They did survive and I put the internet in after they left for college.

The word "minor" is ok too. It's a legal term. It's very specific. "female minor" is a good term.
Gov showing their retardation by being slow on the the uptake of info.
bx did a great breakdown on this cult in July of 2024!

Thank you so much.
Government releasing info later than you'd like is different than being 'slow on the uptake'
Only today? It’s been around for a long time.

I don't agree. I think there's too many predators using different techniques in exploiting trusting people.
Wow, it's so involved and so international. It's not some random kids or small operation.
Thanks for the info.
