My experience with "high blood pressure": I went in for a routine blood test, as an incentive from my employer. They said that I have "high blood pressure" and better see a doctor ASAP. So I'm in the doctor's office and the high BP is comfirmed, right around 140. I'm a 66 YO male with zero health issues. The young female Dr says: "I recommend that you go on BP meds." So I said, "No, Im not doing that". I pointed out that I have a friend who had just had a major heart attack, due to a 98% plaque buildup around his heart. He had no prior symptoms, just this one nearly fatal event. So I asked if plaque buildup around the heart could lead to high BP. Dr says: "Oh yes that could lead to high BP." My next question: Is there a scan or test that can measure the amount of plaque buildup in arteries around the heart? Dr: "OH yes, but it's really expensive, and your insurance company probably wouldn't cover it." My next Q: "How expensive is that?" Dr: "OH, it could be as much as $350." I'm sitting there feeling like I'm in the Twighlight Zone. Three hundred fifty dollars is a lot of money for a critical test that would reveal a potentially deadly situation? I'd spend far more than that on a brake job. Is this really happening???????? Then the next Dr Q: "Did you get the COVID vax?" Me:"NO". She says "Yeah, thats what I expected". I demanded the test. The result was zero plaque in my arteries. Now the real kicker: This Dr's bill, for 30 minutes of bad advice was $350.
This story really happened. I'm not making this up, as crazy as it sounds.
A VERY GREAT STORY...and the ending is what I expected...
SCARE YA' TO DEATH AND if that doesn't work, the test is too expensive because the insurance won't cover it is the OUT!!!!! Horse Puckey!!!!!!! I am on a blood pressure pill and so far my blood pressure hoovers around 120-140...AND I TURN 75 TOMORROW!!!!...so there!!!!!
Tango Yankee on that Lone Wolf...AND MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOURS AND STAY SAFE and WARM AND BE SNUGLLY WOGLY NEXT TO THE WIFEY!!!!!!!!! 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍😍😍😍
It is believable. And I agree with you. It is something these doctors don't think of, people paying money out of pocket for medical tests.
If you can afford it then do it.
Yes, it's as Twilight Zone as you can get. They only care about putting patients on medicine so they can get more money. When I go in there, they stopped asking me now. LOL
In the hospitals, do you know most people die of low blood pressure instead of high? When you are in the ICU, it's always a danger when the blood pressure drop too low.
Take your health into your own hands. Big Pharma is not your friend and does not cure anything. If they did you would only need a script once. Instead they only make you life long customers. I am down 60# the last 2.5 years. Cleaned up my diet and got motivated and have a great cardio workout now with playing pickleball. No more High blood pressure pills. No more low blood pressure pills. No more Chlorestrol pills. Completely off any drugs! Blood pressure in under 120/80 with a pulse in the 60 range. Feel great in my upper 60's and I am at a weight lower than when I came out of high school. IF I CAN DO IT YOU CAN DO IT!
I used one of the free blood pressure machines at Walmart, I know my blood pressure is excellent but that machine was completely uncalibrated off the charts scared the living crap out of me. I can't express how much I hate Walmart.
Theyve done it with all those lab test. Diabetes, cholesterol, psa's. All of it. Mubwife is a medical scientist and showed me all the old averages. Theyve moved some of them quite a bit.
I've had similar experiences with the medical mafia in regards to "high cholesterol" and a "hernia".
During a routine physical they tested my blood. Before I could discuss the results with my doctor I went on line to see if my cholesterol #s were w/i the acceptable range. I found a standard that I assumed was a US standard for cholesterol. It wasn't a US standard it was a European standard. That standard indicated that my cholesterol levels were well w/i the acceptable range.
Then I followup with a doctors visit. He looks at my blood tests and says "we need to put you on cholesterol meds. I said "what"! I thought I was well within the acceptable range. Anyway we both realized I was looking at a different standard. My response to my doc: well I guess I'll just move to Europe so I won't have to take statin drugs. Guess what? He backed down and withdrew his recommendation.
Lesson? These standards are a moving target. But they "ALWAYS" move in the direction of big pharma/big medical profits! I'm sure that's just a coincidence.
I am so glad you stood up to them. Because I work in the industry, when I go in, they go thru the series of questions and I looked at the nurse asking and she goes, "Oops, you hear this all the time.I'll... I'll skip."
I generally tell them what I need done and if I have a problem, I want nothing to do with injection, drugs, I told them I need to know the exercise to do or refer to PT. Next, acupuncture if I have to and it resolved.
When they asked me about vaccines, I gave the husky side eye. They go, "We got it!"
I believe the same thing is happening with diabetic A1C numbers…they keep lowering the target it’s now under 6, which is very hard to maintain with just diet and exercise… it’s a racket.
We actually need to keep our health and physical better here in U.S, but if you take out all the junks from our food, I think it will be one step forward.
After that, limit screen time would help a lot also.
I am on two BP meds that keep my BP about 140/80. I was put on them when I was 50 and now I am addicted to them. I miss a day and my BP shoots up. I thnk this is their plan. Once on the pills, you can't get off of them. If I had known back then, I never would have taken them. I have tried alternate routes like carnivore but nothing has stopped it from going to stroke level.
Kind of like when I was in the hospital for complications after a hernia surgery and they sent in a nurse to take my blood sugar thirty minutes after I finished my meal. Trying to get me on some sweet sweet lifetime diabetes meds, I'm sure.

Natural approach of terrible sales people. Sell the product no matter the need.

It's actually dangerous for older people to have blood pressure that's too low.
Blood pressure medication is a scam, a bit like statins, which is also a scam.
The x post is actually pretty informative, with good info on medication side effects and natural healthy living alternatives.
In the hospitals, do you know most people die of low blood pressure instead of high? When you are in the ICU, it's always a danger when the blood pressure drop too low.
Yeah I don't think 170/95 is healthy for anyone, especially a 70-yr old man. I think the 120/80 is just about right.
Doctors back then also advocated smoking.
140 is about right. That's what I have been seeing for most.
Way too high, a stroke in the making.
Know a lot of people in that range and healthy as a horse. I would not go higher than that though.

Wait! You mean they are more interested in $$ than they are in my health?
Wow. Love it. Love to know you could.
It should be a motivation for others. Diet, exercise, fresh air and motivation is what is needed.

Oh mine. I don't go check. I figured if I can hike approximately 5 miles in 2 hours and keeping up with my 19 yr old dog, I am good.
Theyve done it with all those lab test. Diabetes, cholesterol, psa's. All of it. Mubwife is a medical scientist and showed me all the old averages. Theyve moved some of them quite a bit.
I work with them and not just here, but also in Europe. I know about the change.

Science is never settled.
Right.
Settled science is called religion.
Wow that's a good one - mind if I borrow it?

Yep! Follow the $$! It will always lead us to the truth!
