I remember when they announced public donations we're no longer enough as we were heading into a recession. They said they would have to start taking corporate money but just a little. RIGHTTTTTT..... BYE BYE PBS
Boston will never be the same. Imagine all the blue haired socialists marching in the snow to get their PBS back. Go for it, you feckless idiots. Use your own money to produce lib tripe, no mine.
But but but... I thought that sweet gubbamint funding was only a small portion of their revenue!
edit: I wonder what will happen now. There were a few good non-wokey things on their schedule, like Downton Abbey and This Old House and so forth... really well-made classic shows that everyone could enjoy.
I hope such shows can find a way to keep going, since I imagine they were the workhorses carrying the wokey crap that plenty of us refused to support.
Awesome. I wish Elon would make better use of public airwaves. There are a lot of over-the-air people to cater to. The last I checked there are over 50 channels, all free.
I do like Ken Burns documentaries too. Although I heard he is a flaming liberal. I don't necessarily see an agenda in his old documentaries, I don't know if he's made anything recently (like in the last 15 years or so)
People here are going to cheer about them closing but a LOT of rural local TV programming including local news will undoubtedly be gone once their funding dries up. CBP funding is 25-50% of most rural tv revenue source.
This won’t affect NPR or PBS as liberals and private companies will likely fund them to the end of time even with no tax dollars going their way.
Public Brainwashing Service is dissolved?
Where will the brainwashed go for their 'news' now?
Reddit facebook discord 😂
I think reddit is even waking up (compared to what it was)
It was not always like it has been for you younger adults. It was a great loss when the liberals took over. Not now.

there will be some serious gnashing of liberal teeth when they hear this!!! SWEET!!

Couple of extra wacks on the wooden stake, a silver bullet to the head, sprinkle some holy water on it...done.

There is YouTube. With the right marketing, these shows could revive and even thrive. PBS was a crutch in my opinion.

If they stick with masterpiece theater or oldie movies, fine. Those were good. But the news and propaganda…. Crap.
Hallelujah.

I say give amateur radio a bigger slice of bands.
Yay! Dealing with clients who insisted of having PBS and NPR on media was such a thorn in my side. And my brain.
Dinosaur media is dying.
👏 👏 👏
The Simpson’s are always one step ahead.

On another note…PBS merch found flooding Africa prior to the Super Bowl
Aww. Just as I was about to give them the Big Bird
A bit of sauce to go with this great post!💯💪

RIH state sponsored media.
The only good thing PBS ever showed was the joy of painting by Bob Ross.

There was just a new American Revolution documentary of his shown on PBS in December. It was excellent!
What the heck!!!! Is this true??? This is AMAZING!!!!!!! Such great news!!!!!

Too bad they chose to be biased and unfair all this time.
Great move
