AI slop. There is no HP announcement about "switching to Linux".
HP ships around 50 million computers a year, and a good majority of that is to government agencies and corporate environments ...that run in a complete Windows + 365 ecosystem and will not be switching anytime soon.
In grapheneOS you can create different profiles like one for personal, one for work. For the duo 2fa there has been issues with:
Key points from user experiences:It often works fine for generating TOTP codes.
Push notifications may be less reliable without Play Services (e.g., you might need to open/reopen the app to fetch pending pushes), but they still function when the app is actively used.
Some users run it in a separate user profile on GrapheneOS for better isolation.
However, there are potential issues:In some cases (noted around late 2025), Duo has started blocking or flagging GrapheneOS devices as "tampered" or "jailbroken" due to checks against Play Protect certification (GrapheneOS isn't officially certified like stock Android). This can prevent accepting generated codes or approving logins, even if the app installs and generates codes.
If your Duo setup relies heavily on push or device integrity checks (common in enterprise/work setups), it may fail or become unreliable.
As a workaround for strict policies, some suggest using hardware tokens if your provider (e.g., employer) supports them.
Yes, there are official and community guides for switching back from GrapheneOS to the default (stock) Pixel OS. GrapheneOS is designed to be reversible, and the process is straightforward but involves a few key steps to ensure a clean revert. This applies to supported Google Pixel devices, as GrapheneOS is only officially available for them. The primary official guide is in the GrapheneOS installation documentation:Go to the web installer page → section on Replacing GrapheneOS with the stock OS.
(There's also a CLI version at https://grapheneos.org/install/cli#replacing-grapheneos-with-the-stock-os if you prefer command-line tools.)
I hope this help's you
The reason I like it is In essence, GrapheneOS prioritizes substance: real defenses against adversaries, zero default telemetry, and user empowerment over convenience tied to surveillance-heavy services. It's widely seen as one of the strongest mobile OS options for privacy/security-focused users in 2026, especially on Pixels
I heard Dell is making the switch. But as far as I know, HP only offers Ubuntu Linux pre-installed on their HP ZBook Create G7, which is business/workstation model. I would love to have the option of buying a HP with Linux preinstalled. But I have not heard of such a move. So, I would take this with a huge grain of salt.
I ended my career as a network engineer for a hosting company. The servers that provide "the cloud" are running Linux and all but a few holdouts are running Linux in their server VMs. The desktop is really the only place where Linux hasn't become dominant.
Hopefully development gets on board...there are SO MANY productive tools made for real work, like CAD etc that are Windows only... and you can't pipe them via Wine ir emulation... it's such crap... especially since Windows wants to do updates every 3 seconds and will f your s up if you don't save on the regular...
Thank god. I’ve been meaning to watch some more how to videos about Linux so I can switch. I absolutely hate Microsoft. It’s baffling how a company can be so bad at everything they do, so wrong on every change and decision they make.
I would love to be able to have a conversation with some Microsoft employees involved in big decisions. I can only imagine their explanations for their failure would be fascinating in its cognitive dissonance.

Because the Gates’ are Rothschilds and his mother is involved with the Federal Reserve, so they had access to the Infinite Money Faucet and used it to buy out all competitors, at which point they cut costs and outsource labor, cause why waste money while waging war against America?
At my age mid-70s I'm not sure I want to bother with it I've been without a laptop for 2 years. I don't really miss it other than the size of the screen. Microsoft sucks really bad.

Smart move!
Finally!!
Last year I switch from a Macbook to Linux and I just love using Linux I even got rid of my iphone 14 and switch to a Pixel 9a w/grapheneOS.
What do you think of Graphene? Ii want to switch my Pixel over but I'm worried our corporate apps won't play nice, especially Duo.
And I haven't found a good guide that will show how I could restore it back to the original OS if Graphene won't work for me.
I will probably just wait for a deal on a used Pixel of the same model on ebay and try it on that.

Thank you. That helps a lot.
Windows = Pedos
It never should have been born. I’ve never seen a product so universally complained about be a market leader.
The so-called king of PC Operating Systems is dead!
Long live Linux!
We had Mac’s. The windows were an icon version that was horrible.
Clown op creation shit, always has been.
Back doors
Pfizer?

Support call volume for Linux boxes were 81% lower. Says more about the class of users than the machines me thinks.

PLEASE STOP CLOSING ALL MY WORK TO UPDATE AT 3PM.
From what I can find, the video is lying.
HP is still making PCs? Can't recall the last time I saw one...
All of the computers where I work are HP. They're actually really good and would buy one myself if I had a choice/reason.
Can confirm. Far superior to the dell's i get handed at work that can't manage excel for a day without a nap.
Costco still sells them LOL
W10 and w11 stinks
There is no sauce, only drama queen statements. Yuck.
Love my POP_OS!
Although the signal is nice ... and would support the idea of current laptops running more efficient and thus a longer service life ....
The fact is: moving to linix from windooooz is actually quite easy. You just have to do it. Choose freedom instead of propriety blackboxes.
HP-UX salty dawgs?
Certainly met my expectations. As has every release since XP. /s
Not sure about HP announcing Linux but you can get Ubuntu on laptops (Amazon).
yay! So where are the lessons about how to be a Linux user instead of a suffering windows user?? I want to be ready!

Finally. I still need Windows for engineering tools, but I use exclusively Linux at home, specifically CachyOS foe the past 6 months or so.
Look into Open Mandriva Linux. They advertise as being anti-woke Linux.
I am glad is finally happening
Hopefully all the jets will become unemployed
I ditched windows the only thing I have is my smartphone. Don't know if I could learn linux.🤔
time to ditch Samsung too, grapheneOS on google pixel stops all the smartphone spying
You will never know until you try Fren, look at @NixiePixel on Youtube.
