They never intended to bar any American that met those qualifications to run, and depended on the voters to be diligent in voting only for upright and righteous candidates.
We need to go back to that, and quit allowing a system that only let's the wealthy, the lawyers, the non-citizens, the criminals, or other's that have agenda's not aligned 100% with the limits of delegated power corrupt our branches of government.
They never required that judges had to be attorney's. As a matter of fact, they only required a firm knowledge of the Constitution, the limits of delegated power, and a firm understanding that individual rights were supreme over government.
Imagine all three branches of government full of people who have a firm understanding and love and respect of the Constitution, as well as a firm conviction that the principles upon which our republic was established are inviolable.
