He wound up shooting a US Marshal before Teddy started firing shots at him from a rifle out of a top window but missed them all because the rifle was zeroed at 300 yards. Another US Marshal ended up killing the man with an axe that was left out for chopping wood.

I zoomed in on that nonchalant fellow. He appears to be Secret Service/Guard carrying a long gun of some sort. And you can see there is another guy back there, too, walking around. Yeah. Neither is in the defensive position. Neither seems phased. Maybe they knew in advance where the situation was going down.

A person approached the checkpoint at 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue near the White House and started shooting at officers, according to the official. The suspect is "down" and was transported to George Washington Hospital, the official said. He did not specify the suspect's condition or how he was brought down.
The suspect was identified as an emotionally disturbed person, the official said, adding that a "stay-away order" had been issued to the suspect previously.
Earlier, the U.S. Secret Service said it was investigating the incident and FBI Director Kash Patel said his agency was supporting the probe.
The latest I saw was one gunman got off 3 shots before Secret Service responded and killed the guy. During the crossfire a bystander was also shot, unknown whether it was by Secret Service or from the shooter.
