Of course they're less dense. There's a reason for the term featherweight. Birds have to fly so they are light weight in everything, from their bones to the proportion of fat they can carry, which includes being -=relatively=- light on nutrients. Every cell of their bodies is optimized for being not dense.
Not that I like Tyson or factory farming by any means, nor do I defend stupid marketing like eggs that come from vegetarian-feed chickens. Natural is always better, whether it's on the wing, hoof, or fin. But pheasant, turkey, goose, game hen, and chicken are all perfectly decent food. And in terms of nutrient density, eggs are a nearly perfect food.
What a lovely area she's at. I'd love to live in a landscape like that. Sadly I was raised mostly in a concrete jungle with asphalt swamps.
Um, vegetarian-fed chickens? Are there people that actually believe this?
Where I'm at, California, land of the fruits, nuts and flakes, nearly all the egg cartons in the grocery store say this. I think the wording is "from vegetarian-fed hens" or something like that.
I can't recall any popular movement to make chickens vegetarian, ever: they just stick it on the label as if it's a good thing, kind of like how a box of oatmeal will be labeled "100% cholesterol free."
Californians are idiots, sorry, I donāt mean you. The only way a chicken is vegetarian is if they arenāt exposed to any type of feed other than what is placed in front of them, which basically means they have no access to outdoors.
I have Colorado chickens and they eat their own eggshells, busted eggs, chicken meat scraps, bugs, corn, fish heads, steak fat, bones, everything in the compost bin, snot ... they're disgusting little dinosaurs and cannibals. They're happy dumb birds that poop perfect protein, everyone loves my eggs.
Iāve seen mine catch baby mice and eat them, they are definitely not vegans.

It means that they're kept in cages in a warehouse and fed grain-based chicken feed.
Invert all pyramids.
This is wild. We have been lied to about everything
We were told chicken is a health food, weāve been told itās what we should all be eating
According to nutrient density information by multiple sources including the USDA, it ranks nearly dead last. Hereās the order for nutrient dense meat (generally)
And all the way at the bottom is chicken:
We have been lied to about everything
One of the big reason we switched from mainly eating mainly beef and other meats is marketing from major companies like Tyson
Chicken was historically more of a delicacy or seasonal food in the US, not everyday staple like beef or pork. Mid-20th century campaigns by companies like Tyson and others successfully repositioned it as a cheap, healthy, everyday ālean proteinā alternative
Marketing played a major role in shifting consumer habits, emphasizing health and nutrition angles while industrial production scaled up dramatically. This was classic marketing to expand market share
You should be upset

Tyson Foods ties to Bill Clinton giving them inside track to the deep state and the NWO plan. I believe the transformation of American eating habits to be chicken dominated is more than just successful marketing, though you are right that the marketing push has been substantial. The underlying theme of the NWO food plan is drastic reduction in land usage for grazing. Modern industrialized chicken manufacturing - not farming, as a matter of point - has the highest land utility concentration.
A less conspiratorial reason is that chicken has economic appeal to supermarkets and fast food restaurants. Chicken has become a raw ingredient, a kind of flexible processed food substitute similar to the way cheese was transformed from slowly aged wheels to liquid goo. Watch the current KFC TV commercials for breadcrumb and spice encrusted "chicken poppers" and how they are portrayed as a new kind of fun junk food to eat while watching stupid stuff on TV with your ADHD afflicted friends.
Much as I dislike Ted Turner, I elevate him a couple rungs out of Hell for his restaurant chain Ted's Montana Grill. For me Bison burgers are a treat with which I reward myself for good deeds done (such things as writing comments on GAW?). I like their wooden decor and quiet booths, too.
Tyson chicken if you like your food prepared by Somalis. kek
They did the same thing with pork in the 80ās and 90ās.
Eat the chicken skin, and you won't be short on fat. Just sayin...
I donāt really disagree with her points.
However, Iām kinda thinking the āleanā part of the whole equation might still be a misnomer for āgood healthā in general. I.E., we need āfatsā from beef, etc. too. And that part of the argument is still taking a back seat.
Lied to? People in the health and fitness space have LONG talked about the bioavailabilty of different proteins--- egg whites vs chicken vs beef vs soy, vs pea vs pork, Yadav yada- this was taking place 30 years ago and long before that...and the establishment made fun of us... Now we address this? Forgive me if I dont buy into the bullshit click bait. This is just calling society out on their massive laziness and cravings for the "magic pill".
Life calls for MODERATION and a WIDE VARIETY.
The wife and I were looking at chicken restaurants a few days back to see what they were using to fry their chicken. KFC, Chicken Express, and Popeyes all used soy bean and canola oil.
Seeds oils are bad for you with canola being one of the worst.
The only place we found that wasn't using those two was Chick-fil-A. They stated they use peanut oil.
And when I am in the mood, it is Chick-Fil-A!!!!!! Which is usually on Tuesdays for lunch!!!!! That is all, NOW go enjoy your dinner!!!!!!
Everytime I eat extra hot wings, I'm like "damn, 6 chickens axed for this." (and a couple habaneros). Then I lick my fingers and sip a beer.
For all we know there are GMO chickens that grow six wings each. So maybe only 2 chickens got axed for your meal.
ā¤ļøthis young lady!!
Chicken thighs are superior to breast meat but nothing beats a four-legged cloven hooved animal for taste and nutrition.
Properly fed chickens are best for egg production, eggs are very nutrient dense if the chicken has a proper diet.
I agree with everything said here. I did a long stint of carnivore 6 years ago (95% beef). I swear I reverse aged that year. I have recently given up pork because the bible says not to eat it and my mental clarity is definitely increasing.
Pork was also the first to be greenlighted for mRNA vaccines like 3yrs ago. So thereās that too.
Are they checking nutrient density cooked, or raw?
Nutrient info on packages is for raw meat, which may or may not be the same cooked. I lean to may not.
Lots of lies, untruths, and deceptions all around.
Dont care. Live fried chicken.
I think I have sorted out my diet now. When I am overweight or have insulin deficiency or diabetes, I need to eliminate about half the food I would normally eat.
If I also have a kidney issue then I also need to cut out the other half!
It all makes perfect sense.
But Chickens like most fowl have been around since The Garden of Eden. And pork is usually, even mixed opinion-ally, āBiblicallyā labeled as bad. So Iād look at the report and see who is āfundingā the farm and report. Because as weāve learned through Capitalism, companies, including farms, media, and schools put out their own info to direct those who will fall in to follow, to come buy.
Itās like that half-a-century old fight against real milk butter vs margarin. It always comes out later itās the āfundingā and āmarketersā just attempting to steer narrative for money.
Devils advocate here
I had a health scare about 8 years ago. Heart related. I ate beef, pork, everything
When I got home I immediately changed the entire way I ate in a sustainable way. The biggest change I made was I stopped consuming red beef entirely. One chicken meal and one turkey meal per day. Once or twice weekly fish.
I look and feel younger than I did then. I'm pretty stable as far as health goes. My palpitations and heart annoyances are rare. I would not be where I am now consuming a diet high in saturated fats and TMAO.
Still quite edible. But I have learned to prefer beef.
Is this farm grown or processing plant grown stats?
I know the chicken industry has been thoroughly dredged of nutrients when they raise the chickens.
Just wondering if anyone had more information that shows chicken on farms better than the over processed chickens the stores have
Lucky for me I never liked chicken.
They are just nasty animals.
Pigs can be nasty, too, but š„ is wonderful.
i'm skeptical of some post which appears to reference scientific data (though scientific data these days is highly unreliable) and doesn't include any links. Just a little bit of searching I did doesn't seem to indicate chicken is much worse than beef/fish.
