The sad irony to me is that I, a type 1 diabetic white male who has basically earned an honorary medical degree due to all the hours I've put in as a patient, have had far better experiences with doctors of color and even immigrant doctors, over the years.
They are the ones who tend to listen to me when I say stuff like "that's stupid and won't work" and are willing to admit much of the care they prescribe is a stepping stone they know will be inadequate, but is necessary due to the convoluted nature of the "white man's" (👀👃) insurance industry...
Her passion may be (and honestly reads) as sincere, but with all due respect Congresswoman, let's either dismantle the entire system, or keep it underground like we've been doing.
"Sycophant" must be a trending buzz word, it's not usually in their working vocabulary.
The thing that strikes me most here is how quick the left is to embrace the upside down flag. Seen tons of reddit comments about it. It's a trend in their zeitgeist, like almost everything they do.
I remember having very, very serious discussions on this forum ~5 years ago about the meaning and responsibility of deciding whether or not to fly the distressed flag. We took the ramifications very seriously even though we were in the middle of being rounded up and force vaccinated.
These people pull it out like a neon thong at a pride parade.
It's a simple thing, but, to me, it speaks volumes about the philosophical differences we experience.
I want to chime in with anecdotal evidence: yesterday I was reading reddit and saw a number of posts, pretty clearly of the ragebaiting variety, asking people if they celebrate / why celebrate / do you fly a flag for, Independence Day.
Observations:

The usual, nattering, "Fuck the USA!", "I'd only fly the flag upside down!", etc nonsense.

A, seemingly, larger than normal minority expressing genuine patriotic pride, and especially more people than typical also offering rebutals to the people in group #1. A couple of "maybe you should fly the British flag" type replies made me chuckle. Replies of this type are generally fewer than original comments expressing "dissent" as bans are still swift on Reddit, and replying often gives the mods an excuse to claim you're being "antagonistic" to specific individuals (bullies and abusers don't like "receiving"). Bravery and DGAFism is up.

A weird number of people saying stuff like "I celebrate out of spite", "I'm taking patriotism back from the MAGA assholes" or "I fly the flag next to my pride flag, it's my country too". It's weird; a perverse patriotism movement seems to be underway on the left. It's toxic and... bitter, but it's fascinating to me. I could see it being a priming for a true national pride to occur after certain reveals are made. I have not seen anything like it before.

He then goes on, from his lawyer's perspective, to relate the COVID scandal to previous scandals, all of which are (arguably) dwarfed by the world wide war crime that was COVID (Iran Contra being a salient one), and how many of these event took over a decade to simply persecute. He notes the financial crisis of 2008 is still resolving criminal cases.
