I think it depends on how you are wired & your body / brain chemistry. My dad was addicted to alcohol & cigarettes. But I can have a drink or smoke 1 cig & not have another one for months or years and be fine.

I’ve seen it with more then just my brother & his friends. I’ve had roommates that would smoke their entire stash well before their next payday & then try anything they could to get more. Borrowing money or going to the pawn shop. They stopped short of offering sexual favors on the corner so maybe they weren’t completely addicted.

I don’t know when he started but I know he was growing and smoking at 19-20.

I've known a lot of weed addicts over the years. Watching my older brother and his friends for the last 20+ years is all the proof I need. When you can't function for more than a couple hours without toking again, can't go anywhere without bringing your weed, get angry if you don't get to toke regularly, or are blowing up your marriage because you can't stop. Then you are addicted.

I had roommates that on payday would go buy some weed and smoke non stop. They would always run out well before the next payday. I would watch them scrape the burnt resin out of all of their pipes & bongs just to get one more toke. Then they'd be trying to borrow or scrounge up any money they can to buy more. It wasn't until after they were forced to stop smoking that they finally admitted there was a problem.

I grew up watching my brother and his friends smoke weed all day everyday. From years of observation I can tell you that they're are impairments even to men in their 40's & 50's.

Specially if you can't function for more then a few hours with out having to go toke again & again.
