The thing is, most of us could care less about TG. Yet we're being inundated with posts lecturing us and castigating us for something that's not even happening - "simping". Right now, TG is not a threat to anything; she wields no power.

I haven't seen any of this. Are you telling me if Debbie Wasserman Shultz was saying the same things as Gabbard, it would get ignored?

Actually I think you're revealing more about all the people getting massively triggered by any mention of Gabbard - It's because she is more attractive than most politicians.

It should be noted that they don't go around using these titles EXCEPT during the the degree process. Each degree uses a story to teach a virtue. These allegories are acted out in dramatic vignettes, wherein the character might be referred to by these titles.

Here is a very illuminating article from 2018 about the reality of the election for Speaker of the House of Representatives. https://www.congressionalinstitute.org/2018/12/28/how-the-house-elects-its-speaker/

Keep in mind that we don't get to choose the Speaker. The House is an institution; The Republican Conference is it's own community with longstanding customs. Speakers are usually nominated because of their track record in leadership of the Conference. Speakers are not typically nominated because of how conservative they are perceived to be, or due to clever soundbites they may have created.

So for someone to get the job, first, they have to want the job. Then someone has to nominate them. And if they are actually opposing conference leadership, then they run the risk of being left out of important committee assignments.

It is claimed that the FBI released a fact sheet describing these symbols to law enforcement. They have never been released to the public by the government.

Higher standards indeed. Is it too much to ask to not condemn someone as a vile pervert based on suspicious geometric designs? PROOF and EVIDENCE for the win!

What's odder is that the FBI didn't post these symbols anywhere. Wikileaks did... after obtaining them from a pro-pedophile network.

Every table, every person - a body cam, every place a ballot can be stored. Cameras are cheap enough, there is no excuse.

What would a Muslim do? Seriously though, Jesus would probably knock over all the tables and whip everyone.

You know what would really freak them out? If Trump started handing out AR15s and the group started laughing like Dr. Evil's minions.

That is the way of empires, unfortunately. The United States put an end to it, in a way. I think Humanity is better for having spread Western Christian culture, though it wasn't always done perfectly or gently.

What gave them the right? This is a good philosophical question. There are many on the right that just want to be left alone. We and our culture will not survive with that attitude.

Poppycrock. The empire made everywhere they colonized better.

Sooo... is the Supreme Court going to order a Contingent Election? Doesn't seem likely. Is Kevin McCarthy as Speaker going to initiate this? Really?

It's funny, nobody ever says, "Aliens? So what." When they really should. If they are going to destroy us, we probably have no hope of defending ourselves. And if they do reveal themselves in friendship, it's not like they would be interested in us little people.

Everyone who brings up the vastness of space in their argument for the likelihood of other civilizations neglect another data point: The vastness of time.

Many civilizations could have been born and died throughout all of time, so perhaps we are the only civilization currently in existence.

But one wouldn't show up randomly to one of these places, as if it were a bus stop. You would have to make arrangements ahead of time, and the person you contact, if they trusted you, would give you an address.
