Pfft! From what I can find a 12ga #9 has over 700 pellets in the chamber.

So a few years ago I served on a planning commission in Colorado and we dealt with a lot of wildfire issues. I've attended multiple seminars about fire prevention. I've seen pictures of other burned neighborhoods that look just like this. One home spared, one just like it gone. What I learned is that the fire spreads through burning embers lifted into the air and then dropping to the ground. If they land on a flammable surface the fire spreads. The single best defense is to minimize these horizontal flammable surfaces. Wood decks, bark mulch in landscaping, even patio furniture. Anything an ember can ignite. I can't tell you what happened here but I can say it's not uncommon.

I was running an m235 tuned to 400hp. Going into turn 1 where the wall he probably hit was it was rev limiting in third, about 110. I would guess a Mclaren (these guys don't mess with Porches) could be 130-140. Our group had a cone chicane set up on the back straight to keep speeds down. Without that they might have seen 150 there.

I've spent time at Woody Creek. It's a short track with enough space to get up to speed and then require hard braking. It's pretty fun in a lower powered car but the members there (it's private) all have big hp supercars. There is little space to run off and there are walls to hit. Even if you run off into the fields there are decent sized rocks to hit. Brake fade is a problem not to be messed with.

I was never fast but in college a group of us would run a 3 mile loop in the evening. The goal was to break 20 minutes. I did it once. Felt like I was flying that night.

That part is easy. They hold a vote. Passed. What Supreme Court?

I read this a few days ago. One question I have. If every existing gun that falls under this bill is grandfathered but only if you have a receipt showing you bought it before the bill's active date there doesn't seem to be a provision for the countless legal guns acquired from family, private party, etc. that don't have a paper trail. In other words are you required to take them all in for registration in order to keep them?

So the State Patrol is on I40 all the time. Limit is 70, everyone goes 80. Virtually none of the 100+ crowd. Back roads are spotty but in my experience they turn the radar on when they leave the garage and my detector let's me know well in advance. If you're really in the twisties you'll be hard pressed to do the limit on corners. One thing though, virtually no shoulders on the back roads. Keep it tidy.

I've only been here full time since Sept. Fall was perfect. Dry and warm. Winter has been a mix. I'd say we've been averaging a day or two per week of gray, cloudy, maybe a little rain and in the 40s. A couple of days a week are sunny and close to 60 and the rest somewhere in between. We did have some cold during that historic cold snap but it left after a couple of days. We chose to live at 2k feet so summers aren't as hot as elsewhere in TN. When we were visiting it was 80's and kind of humid but not terrible. It does cool off at night, unlike Texas. We do have bugs in the summer. Chiggers and gnats are a problem. Winter is hiking season.

It is amazing twisty road central, and they're smooth as glass mostly.

Services here are weak. Medical care takes some advanced planning for everyday stuff. Dining out is not a strong point. Any travel through a big city will be jammed as they are all overwhelmed with new population. The tourists do come here a lot in the summer. It's mostly small town south, the people are super nice and it's pretty cheap.

We probably sold a bit early but even though they kept reporting higher prices I really don't think there were any buyers at those prices. We lived near Glenwood and it's hard to sell mountain property in a soft market. We did a stint near our son in Ft Worth and hated it. Ended up in eastern Tennessee and are mostly glad to be here. No where is perfect.

When Polis was elected I said they would come for your money, guns, and vote. I left when they took my vote. I see they're working on completing the trifecta.

Remember the huge number of cell phone numbers that went inactive.

I don't watch tv with commercials. My one exception is my Discovery+ subscription that "included" the History Channel doesn't without ads. I went to watch a show knowing I would get some ads but the first one was a State Farm ad that was so gay I shut it off and restarted to get something different. Gross.

Same thing here in east Tennessee. The cycle has gotten longer. Staying on for 30-45 minutes now before glitching off.

The local leftist newspaper in western Colorado published a letter to the editor saying the unvaccinated should be killed. I don't live there anymore.

Moved here last May. Another funny one today. Waiting in line outside chatting with other folks in line when someone comes out of the building and asks for Dems to come forward as there's no wait for them. It was a long walk past everyone waiting but no problem since they were the only ones wearing masks.

Voted for my first time in Texas. The whole thing took 2 hours. When I left the line was much longer. They had five machines for Rs and four for Ds. The D machines sat empty pretty much the entire time I was in the building.
