The moral high ground I see is being able to state that the US is there to help NATO countries, BUT NATO countries will not help the US.
It is a strong case, and I see it as much stronger than just footing the bill for the other countries.
By not showing up for the US, NATO countries signal unwillingness to fulfill NATO duties. The US is "abandoned" by its NATO partners.

When she heard another cancer patient reference alternative treatments (ivermectin and fenben, etc), she would literally stop in her tracks, turn, and walk the other way. (This occurred at church. )
Turbo cancer woman is now dead.
Ivermectin woman - one tumor is now completely gone. Other tumors are now shrinking. Not out of the woods yet, but progressing towards beating cancer.

Yes, I was taking horse paste. Daily. For lyme. After about three weeks my eyes started seeing funny. It was like when you have spent a day in a chlorine pool or spent 16-18 hours straight working (not gaming) on a pc/laptop.
Stopped the horse paste. Vision went back to normal.
A friend had a similar experience. Pills for cancer treatment. High dosage. US. Had increased dosage due to vacation. After a number of days at higher levels - eyes started getting weird. Reduced dosage. Vision went back to normal.

I'm a lefty. Before I went to India, I was coached to not use my left hand for eating. I understood it to be frowned upon and not done. I did not fully understand why at the time. I just figured that it was a cultural taboo.
Now I know why it would be frowned upon.
Hold up. A couple of things seem to be getting mixed up.
Pakistani - predominantly Muslim - daily call to prayer - foot washing would be needed, no bacon
Indian - predominantly Hindu - they did not do a daily call to prayer ( from what I encountered) - so no foot washing at work, usually vegetarian but no mandate
Smells were patchouli heavy, curry heavy
Bathroom habits, this apply to both - thank goodness for stalls. I have not encountered or heard such activities in the next stall (womens) over - but - this actually makes sense given where they come from.
When I was in Bangalore, in a corporate setting, nice, professional, but in the bathroom there was a hose attached to the wall to use like toilet paper/poor man's bidet. There was not any toilet paper in sight. We were told to have tissue/kleenex packets and hand sanitizer to cope.
Never used the hose.
Just happy/thankful that there was a toilet to sit on.
Some places, like the Mumbai airport we were at, have what is best described as a urinal on the floor. One squats over it and does your business while hoping like hell you do not tumble backward.
