Same with me. I went to buy a new car, and I was going to finance it in order to get a $2,000 rebate, then pay it off the first month. They ran my credit and said, I had no credit score. I said, it’s because I pay cash for everything. They asked me in front of a counter full of people if I could get a co signer. I said seriously, you’re going to embarrass me in front of all of these people because I don’t owe anyone any money? A manager caught on and said they would qualify me at a higher rate. I said I didn’t care because I was only making one payment. Point is, it is possible to pay your bills, and have bad, or no credit.

Actually, I think my father loved him. It was the history teacher who made the comment. That teacher always seemed like a good person. It was a small town, so everyone pretty much knew everyone. My grandparents were his parent’s neighbors. Solid Christian family. He got into local politics as a democrat in the 80s. I believe he’s still alive. Maybe I need to seek him out and demand an explanation.

Mr Revere, I have a question, since you were around at the time. I’m 60 so, I was born 3 months after the assassination. My parents never talked about it, although I know my father had reel to reel tapes of the newscasts and funeral. When I was in the 7th grade, I had a history teacher who was talking about finding out about it at school. Then he said that the first thing all of them thought was “good, he’s dead”. That comment has stuck with me almost 50 years. At the time I didn’t question it but, wish I had. Was that a “normal” reaction at the time?

Build a man a fire, he’ll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, he’ll be warm the rest of his life.

I don’t think some of that crowd has ever thrown anything, other than a fit.

Maybe Lloyd Austin should wear a tuxedo to work. If I’m gonna be impotent, I wanna look impotent.
