But today, Bob watches with a growing sense of distress as the forests and fields he played in are clear-cut to make way for massive, multi-family apartment complexes. His unease solidified into alarm when a friend who teaches at a local elementary school mentioned a startling statistic: nearly 80% of her students were now minorities, with half of the student body being of Indian descent and requiring ESL services. The town he planned to raise his own children in is rapidly becoming unrecognizable.
This paragraph could have been about my town in Ohio because that's exactly what's happening here. Very small farm town now is a traffic nightmare with all the apartments and subdivisions being built. Roads are too small to handle all the extra population. Instead of Indians, it's South Americans. Additionally, for the first time, we're starting to see black gang activity. My youngest graduates from high school next year and then we're out of here.
I appreciate that you added in the GME bit - and I'm one of those wafflers on whether to sell when it moons or just diamond hands (or a bit of both). It sounds like if we're getting a new system, I should sell at least some and immediately invest in a tangible asset like land, gold/silver, etc? I wouldn't want any gains to be wiped out in a new system ("we don't take your fiat dollars here, sorry").
"What happened to me was wrong, but I have had many years to think about this. I have made peace with it. I forgive him,"
As if forgiving someone for a crime they commit means they don't have to pay back the diamonds ... ffs.
Thank you for your story. You've given me hope for a flakey spot on my nose, and have ordered the ivermectin (which I honestly should have had on hand anyway but gave my remaining stash to my brother a couple of years ago). Praying for the best outcome for you!!
This same thing happened 4 months ago in Washington:

I wonder if it was the same guy.
... and the initial mental health of those who want to transition
I think the magnifying glass looking into mental health needs to start with the parents first (or the teachers). THEY allowed it to happen. THEY initiated the idea and planted the seed into a clean, innocent mind that the will of God should be thwarted. THEN look at the victim to see what can be done to repair the mental damage.
My doctor's office, disappointingly, has fallen into this habit. I took my daughter in for something - I don't even remember what it was, but the doc then started asking her all sorts of probing questions, to which she responded correctly ("no"). Then finally asked, is there anything YOU are concerned about, and my daughter mentioned that she was a week or two late on her period (she's a teenager, these things can be late "just because"), and the doctor immediately was like, oh we need to get some blood work and do a full panel to see if you have something wrong. ANYTHING they can keep you coming in for. And it's not like they needed the patients, they are always overbooked.
And this was a woman doc - who should know that periods aren't settled into a perfect 28-day cycle for years and years, if ever ...
We don't hate or distrust these people enough, apparently.
Exactly, revoke their passport. And their citizenship while we're at it!
