... and the initial mental health of those who want to transition

I think the magnifying glass looking into mental health needs to start with the parents first (or the teachers). THEY allowed it to happen. THEY initiated the idea and planted the seed into a clean, innocent mind that the will of God should be thwarted. THEN look at the victim to see what can be done to repair the mental damage.

My doctor's office, disappointingly, has fallen into this habit. I took my daughter in for something - I don't even remember what it was, but the doc then started asking her all sorts of probing questions, to which she responded correctly ("no"). Then finally asked, is there anything YOU are concerned about, and my daughter mentioned that she was a week or two late on her period (she's a teenager, these things can be late "just because"), and the doctor immediately was like, oh we need to get some blood work and do a full panel to see if you have something wrong. ANYTHING they can keep you coming in for. And it's not like they needed the patients, they are always overbooked.

And this was a woman doc - who should know that periods aren't settled into a perfect 28-day cycle for years and years, if ever ...

We don't hate or distrust these people enough, apparently.

Maybe it's time, if "we have it all," to use that leverage to get the votes we need...

I'm not sure IRS isn't in bed with all those banks, etc, and therefore along the lines of "investigate yourselves." We'll see. Cautiously optimistic.

My local elementary school is within walking distance of our house - it's part of our neighborhood - so they do not bus. Last year we had a child in Columbus get struck and killed in the darkness because the car didn't see them. AND the buses for the farther away schools (middle, junior high, high school) don't stop at the door, they stop at the street corners and the kids walk from there.

"Your analogy is false." What the fuck ever. Just because something isn't true in your little part of the world doesn't mean it isn't true in mine.
