To be fair, people on our side also get the boot. In our case it is probably because our foot had to be removed from someone else and it was very likely embedded deep up there. That can hurt our feet. They always deserve it though.

I broke my pinky toe and had to wear one of those sandals with velcro which is more to protect it from getting bumped (who knew a teeny break would hurt so much when you turn over in bed because you never realized how much you push off on it?) Anyway, it was a long time before I could walk comfortably and for any real distance and that included the time after I got rid of the sandal. Early on, I didn't want to go anywhere.
Yeah, fractures and breaks anywhere from the ankle on down will put anyone right out of the idea of walking tours.
