IMO, Pence was promised he would be president if he did not send the electoral vote back to the states. He was given a coin, by a still unknown person, immediately after certifying the vote. Pence thinks he will be installed as the next President. He is NOT a white hat playing his part. Trump gave him a lot of rope and Pence is hanging himself with it.
