The going theory was that she was thinking she would easily beat President Trump, because he was such a joke, so the DNC needed to encourage people to follow him. We know how that turned out.
However (due to my nature of always leaving at least 1% chance that I'm wrong), I have found myself thinking about whether President Trump is really on our side or if it's a long con.

As someone that's been on the internet since about 1995, all of what he says makes total sense.

I've always said one of the biggest mistakes that they made was attacking sub cultures (like gaming, comics) because it woke A LOT of people up to what was going on. Edit: The timeline really doesn't work. He said he knew about COVID before he moved (prior to Sept, 2019). COVID doesn't happen until late October 2019 (they officially say Nov 2019 but we know better).
