They aren't going broke though? Disney plus made big gains in subscribers in America last year? The inevitable Encanto stage show alone will allow them to take more mistakes like losing cricket rights in India.

I keep saying this - Disney does not need Florida. At all. Since their redirection in the Aughts, Disney has been exclusively in the business of the long game. This is why they bought Star Wars with zero concrete ideas on what to do with it. They saw how adult dismissal of the prequels gave way to ironic appreciation and genuine youth appreciation, because Star Wars doesn't have to be good to be profitable - it's fucking Star Wars. same with the Muppets, and Marvel, etc etc.

Disney is well aware of what is coming, ecologically, for Florida. Upkeep costs of a mini-city in a slowly sinking swampland are only rising, and some day the balance sheets will no longer make financial sense. Disney is going to squeeze everything they can from Florida before having to make decisions "with a heavy heart" and all that bs, probably in 50 years or so. And they already built an escape bunker in Shanghai (complete with Winnie the Pooh ride!), so...

Scientists have been unable to find male baby sea turtles in Florida. Sea turtle sex, like many reptiles, is determined by the temperature of the sand the egg is laying in. Average sand temps get too high = only females born. Only females born = turtles can't reproduce = extinction of a species that has survived millions of years and dozens of global warming and cooling cycles (slow, natural ones).

Global warming will destabilize industries (capitalism's need for constant growth can't properly execute itself in a closed system of dwindling resources), then small countries, then economies, and then the countries with access to the button that ends the world. Destabilized nuclear powers equals big boom very sad

People with recent ancestors from other countries aren't allowed to be President of a country founded by people with recent ancestors from another continent!

No, we won't. AI is still in its infancy and that AI anime was atrocious. In as soon as five years we could see this, maybe even two or three if we put no brakes on the extinction of a shared reality, but not next week.

But the two situations shown are completely different? Only posture is similar? What a low-quality meme

This is like asking a toddler with a really good vocabulary to deliver a speech about the comparative ethics of the situation in Kashmir. AI can't properly detect and guard against manipulation of the public opinion used to create itself. Way too early for this to mean anything. Maybe in as soon as five years, but the tech just isn't there yet. And no, Elon does not have some magic tech no one else does, because what makes good AI of this sort is time and battle testing more than anything else.

The new fancy AIs can't agree on whether it's ethical to eat any kind of meat or whether scholarly journals actually exist. They are still extremely prone to hallucination. Any results will be immediately challenged and false positives WILL BE FOUND. This is just another manboy publicity stunt y'all keep falling for. Not all of y'all, but enough to be disheartening.
