So I was curious what government officials were getting paid in California. Found a site called www.transparentcalifornia.com Prepared to be disgusted. This is just a minuscule part of the list for just Los Angeles (media.greatawakening.win)

Every county, even tiny ones, have officials that are getting paid like $200,000+. They are robbing the taxpayers of California dry. Explains why we are consistently in a deficit. Los Angeles alone has over 1000 pages. You have to go somewhere over page 100 to get to salaries around $100,000.

I know of a dude on the California Police Department who "runs" for them and is part of the Marathoners. They pay him to go to the gym and lift weights and work on his six pack. Literally runs on tax payer money.

Takes all the overtime he can get as Police Officer he takes in over $200K

My neighbor is a fireman (San Diego). During fire season, he gets sent to major fire zones in other parts of the state for several days or even weeks at a time. I believe he gets paid overtime for the entire time he is on these fires.

Edit to add: He makes really, really good money in fire season, but he'd prefer to be home with his family.

"but he'd prefer to be home with his family...” Spare us the bullshit. He is addicted to the cash. Anyone who would “prefer” to be with their family WILL be with their family. Especially in regards to optional overtime. He could quit and find a job that allows him to be with family like most of America. But yet he chooses not to. Telling.

Agreed. $500-$700k a year. What a chump to go to medical school and work for a teaching hospital. Surgeons making less than fire chief? That is outrageous income. The benefits packages?! More than most workers in the rest of the country.

Wow. That sounded really judgmental. You make a valid point, but have some empathy.... The choice to walk away from a job gets harder as you age. When you are close to retirement, the idea of walking away from a huge retirement package to start over in a brand new career from the bottom can seem daunting.

Likewise, in CA government, the retirement monthly payment is based on how much you made in your last year or two on the job. He, and all the other people close to retirement, have to make a choice: quit the job and get no retirement or work massive overtime and get an extra fat retirement.

– Rotor 1 point 79 days ago +1 / -0

Opinions are always “judgmental’. He can quit or shut up and work. I blame the government in regards to allowing employees to “work’ that much overtime. I have 40 years managing employees. Trust me when I say overtime hours are NOT productive. For the business or the employee. They could hire seveal additional employees, work them no OT and have money to spare. This is a government problem.

It's bigger than that. To save money, the cities/counties have skeleton crews, so when there is a fire, its mandatory work for everyone. It not only costs more to work people overtime than just having more people to start with, and it also leaves just a few people at their home stations to deal with emergencies at home. And in fire season, a lot of areas will go up while the majority of the crew is away at another fire. I think they rely on emergency funds to pay for it.

To make up the shortfall of people, CA also uses prisoners as slave labor at like $1 an hour to help fight fires. To be fair, the prisoners are volunteers, but they risk their lives for no real reward. So "real firemen" get $100k in overtime to fight the big fires, felons get enough to buy lunch at Olive Garden. Felons can't be "real" firemen when they get out of prison, so its not like on the job training.

And then lets talk about how CA is a hot mess when dealing with the fire damage... FEMA gave Newsom a bunch of trailers for the fire victims to put on their property to live in during rebuilding. Newsom instead gave them to the chronically homeless, who can't use them because you have to have a permanent place to park them. That left the fire victims homeless while the trailers sat unused.

Newsom signed a bill making it so that the energy companies that caused some of the fires don't have to pay for the damage, and the insurance won't cover it because the energy companies are responsible.

Many counties have changed building codes so the homes can't rebuilt. Rebuilding has been a nightmare for the for victims.

Not to mention the "trauma days" firefighters get with pay after responding to a fire. It could be as simple as a shed fire but they still get days off with pay to recuperate. Same thing with bad auto accidents they respond to. Learned this from 2 firefighters. One a Dallas firefighter the other an Amarillo firefighter. These government agencies have been part of the grift (just as the politicians are) for many years at the taxpayers expense. Many are just silent about it because they want the money train to keep rolling in.

Well, since this was a CA article.... I know of ZERO departments in CA that have "trauma days". I have had multiple multiple alarm fires in a shift and didnt get a paid day off from it. After 2 week assignments, one may possibly get an R&R day on return. But rarely does that happen now-a-days. TX sounds cool.

Not impossible to happen. Top guy... his overtime rate is roughly $90/hour? 56 hour work week. Work approx 122 days/year. That leaves about 244 days available for OT. At $400k thats 4444 hours worked. Roughly 185 days. Reminder: most firefighters work 24 or 48 hour shifts.. not 8-5. It is entirely possible that guy worked 307 of 365 days that year. If a spot is vacant(and LA City and LACoFD has a lot of openings) someone has to work it... be it voluntarily or then forced.

Firefighters in CA work 24 or 48 hour shifts. 56 hour work week. Most FDs have 3 shifts. They work 4 solid months at a station per year.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– rma92 1 point 80 days ago +1 / -0

There's usually some rule about overtime starting when too many hours are worked in a given period (e.g. after 40 hours in 7 days) or too many continuous hours are worked in a single shift.

Firefighters don't generally work 9-5...

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– akira2501 1 point 80 days ago +1 / -0

It looks like one major reason they do shifts that way is because federal law allows up to 53 hours without overtime per week, specific to firefighters and possibly other government staff. The 24 hour schedule apparently gets station managers the most out of this arrangement.

Outside of that.. there really doesn't seem to be any sense in it at all. Kelly days. Rotations. No ability to scale to peak and off peak times. Allowing sleeping on shift. It just looks antiquated for no good reason.

Other pay could be non-pensionable payments. Education or fitness incentives. Certain departments total compensation is bullshit. If they are self insured... they can claim health benefits cost whatever they want to say. So they often inflate those numbers to show better "compensation". Example... say health benefits really only cost $250/mo.... dept will say it costs $1000. That will show up as "pay".

Meals, perhaps. Some contracts may provide for meal pay if working a certain amount of hours in a day. At least that would be the case for the Fire personnel with moderate amounts.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– Christine_grab 1 point 79 days ago +1 / -0

A lot of people in various State of CA agencies got a significant amount of "other pay" during the last couple of years. regingrobot makes a valid point about meals for firemen, and that is probably true. But I doubt it was meals for the agencies where everyone was working from home. I was thinking maybe it was equipment for their homes, like computers and cameras, that were deemed the employee's to keep versus having to return upon leaving the job?

We have a site for Texas that shows the salary of every worker on the public dole and it's shocking. My son's band director was making 125k. That's probably like 175k in California or New York money. Ironically, I was originally a music major but switched to computer science because I thought that I'd make better money. Clearly I was wrong. I could have been off 3 months out of the year with kick ass benefits and a pension.

I’m in Fort Wayne Indiana. A very red state, and a mostly conservative city.

The director for the dept of health makes 191k/year. The second highest paid county or city worker is almost 50k less, and if I recall is the prosecuting attorney for the city. The director also received a nearly $70k bonus for 2020/2021 of course.

I happen to also work in a position with the local govt currently that I have access to any/all data and emails… and know how corrupt and cronyism ran and bloated/wasteful it is. I could have access to so much info that is potentially damning even, but it would take a trusted lawyer to sift through it and release it… and since the cronyism is rampant, who would even be trustworthy to go to with any corruption and expect anything done other than a target on my back?

The problem being - how do you even begin to show and convince voters of what is happening?

I'll not begrudge the FDs anything, especially in places like California. Should have scrolled down to school district personnel (not teachers) for a real shock. Back in the early 2000s a few grifters cleverly called themselves School District CEOs. Then the grifters demanded similar salaries as corporate CEOs with the same number of employees as the school district had staff and students. School boards agreed. Cleveland's new CEO's salary was $900.00+. She replaced a retired school superintendent with a salary of $250+. This was back in early 2000; I can't imagine what the salaries are now.

That was cynical.

Its not just Public Service. There are a lot of Americans that don't worship the dark one that fuck the system and other people over as a rule and still see themselves as good people as long as they get the optics of who they are on their resume, business website or social media right. 200k PPP checks for sole proprietorships during Covid. And their spouses got one too, and some tax credits because their businesses started that very year and aren't profitable yet. What a Co Inky Dink. All GAW users must adhere to the highest standards of conduct, whichever .WIN they are on. If we are notified by other moderators of incivil behavior on other .WINs, you WILL be banned here!

Civil Discussion ONLY:
They want you divided.
They want you labeled by race, religion, class, sex, etc.
Divided you are weak [no collective power].
Divided you attack each other and miss the true target [them].

No PAYtriots/No Self Promotion:
Linking or promoting merchandise, fundraising, or spamming personal websites, blogs, or channels is not permitted. Do not attempt to profit from Q or advertise for those who do. Peace is the prize. We do it for free.

Questions and Concerns: All moderation questions and concerns should be submitted via modmail. DO NOT GRIEF the mods.

Expand your thinking:
Remember, this .WIN is the public face of the Great Awakening, and, as a member here, you agree to represent the Great Awakening movement against Globalism, Communism and Progressive Insanity in the best, most positive way possible. NOTE: Your comments and posts may become news. Keep it classy!

This is not a 'fringe conspiracy' site: Visit https://conspiracies.win if that's your thing!

No doomers or shills: This is an exlite research board. If you can't use common sense you'll get banned without hesitation. If you're a shill, you fall under this rule. If you're a doomer, you fall under this rule as you just add garbage to the site like the other two. This includes forum sliding. Q said "We are saving Israel for last," and so are we.

General Rules:

-Mods will issue NO warnings, followed by temporary bans and/or permanent bans. DO NOT GRIEF THE MODS.

-Keep posts related to topics Q has raised or that are current.

-Keep post duplication (especially from other .WINs) to a minimum.

-HIGH EFFORT, HIGH-INFO participation only! Please respect other readers' time. Please use descriptive titles. No URLs in titles, pls. No clickbait. Keep your comments high effort. No BS.

-No fame-fagging; no, "your" post did not get removed! Were you the original author?? Eyes on the prize, frogs!

-Memes encouraged, but no low-quality, low-info trash, pls. Excessive, low-effort posting may earn users vacations!

-Keep it honest and accurate.

-Patriots.win / Q Supporters ONLY. (Sorry, this train still has no brakes.)

-Handshake noobs will be scrutinized by their command of Q, sincerity, and respect to others.

Remember, your conduct here represents the Q movement! OUR ENEMIES ARE WATCHING! (Hi, Mike! You LOSER!)
