I know it's a military plane, lol. Just wanted to add some humor
Largest tiny Cessna fuel tank known to man as well! Zero stops across the US.
Technology!
its a hybrid
They're hyper-"hypermiling".
entire flight surface is teflon-coated?
Not sure where they'd headed
That must be a seriously tricked out 172!
Assuming the 172-H was modified, a Skyhawk JT-A could push FL200 on a good day.
Maybe it has a fantastic tailwind and an hurricane level updraft? Hope they brought along pressurized oxygen masks.
It's got the hot-cam setup, and a less-restrictive air filter. Amazing what a little resourceful tuning can do.
Everyone knows that it's red that makes you go faster.
C'mon, dude. Now you sound like all the haters who say the spoiler on my Saturn doesn't make it go faster.
Plus, we're talking about a super unrestricted air filter, the kind you can only find listed in the back of magazines.
Oh, and chrome is good for at least a few extra mph. It's very sleek, and is considered by air particles to be "hella laminar." But enough science for today!
Dont forget the stickers, adding a K&N sticker adds horsepower
44,000 ft ??
Give or take 30,000. ?♂️
32000 feet below the ground would be even more impressive.
Yes, indeed.
Although I can’t presently see any way to get around a significant tradeoff in speed at such... de-elevations.
I got jumped on this morning because of lack of plane movement. Now I’ve been watching and see our passenger planes in the UK and theirs here. And a ton of VIP used planes moving all over. Some even drawing what looked like dicks with bulging elephantitis of the sack before landing. The names of two planes in Texas had me doing research if there’s any reason why they would name two planes BUNDY. I’m researching any military officials past or present. If it’s just a name. Or if they are correlating Ted bundy’s serial killer ass. Also a lot of planes to Florida. Then they go off radar toward gitmo. And then the original plane appears in south Florida again. Yes. I’m still learning. But I have massive OCD. I like patterns. And I’m noticing some. Don’t be dicks in responses. I’m only saying what I’m observing. I’m probably wrong. As Dane cook would say “you’re all right. I’m wrong. Watching you fly over in your ship of right. Throw me a life line”. Because I know nothing. And vet planefags don’t always respond kindly when we really are interested and passionate about it and give info. Not all. Just a small handful of grumpy old jerks. Lol
I’ve piloted them—they can’t do that—the wings would get torn off :-D
Well there ya go... the wings were torn off and are no longer offering air resistance.
I guess it's not really a Cessna 172-H, then.
It's the model made by Lockheed or Boeing.

Favorite gif. I asked Evspra kindly yesterday to add this one lol
A stock Cessna 172 has a max speed of 122 knots and a service ceiling of 13,500 feet.
.........but when modified?
I cracked up when I saw this. You guys are awesome, btw. I always enjoy the planefag posts.
Check this out
Apparently this aircraft had a fatal accident in Dec 2019.

Edit: Look at who for, and what this aircraft is doing ...
Wow--that plane got fixed fast. A little over a year later, and it's not only a fully-functioning a/c (after landing in a tree), but it's flying higher and faster than it was ever designed to do. The 6 Million Dollar Cessna 172Q. (stole the Q from above)
Cessna 172 on crack I would guess?
Oh, the "Hunter Edition"!
Turdeau making a run for it. lol
They’ve done some incredible work with bacon as well!
WHAT?!?!?!?
THEY RUINED BACON!!!
How the hell does one ruin bacon?!?!?!
I dunno, but the fucking Canadians somehow did it!

Then it's probably not a Cessna 172-H.
Maybe a Cessna 172-Q? ?♂️
It's got... upgrades!
That is one souped up Cessna! I wonder how they got the type wrong on that? Obviously a private jet or military, it's not commercial.
To stupid to be an accident. Someone wants to be noticed
If you can find it at your local library check out the book 'Sled Driver', by Brian Shul. He was an SR-71 Blackbird pilot, took some great photos and has great stories to tell. Some of those pilots enjoyed themselves a bit more than they should.
One time he was coming back to California from a mission outside the country, was ghosting in from the north Pacific, I think, trying to lose speed. As they interact with civilian flight control areas they have to use those comms, so he's switched over listening for a break as other pilots take headings and altitudes, etc..
Then he asks for Angels 60, meaning he wants to fly at an altitude of 60000 feet on his present heading. The Air Traffic Controller thinks it's a passenger plane messing with him, gets snarky and asks 'how the hell do you think you're gonna get up there?' And Brian says' paraphrasing here ... 'Ah you caught me, I'm not going up to 60'...pause a sec... 'I'm coming down to 60'.
Anyhow, those guys like spoofing civilians and each other.

I didn't know that Cessna's carried oxygen as well? Because at FL440 you're going to need it!
Dayum......
Canada, maybe they were using the metric system. lol
Sadly (not really), the stuff that is in the air that is militarily significant, cannot be seen by us with these apps.
