Yep, but only in theory. In practice, it means the Fed Govt is THE ONLY group that can legally target and entrap it's citizens.
Just look at how EVERY FBI/DOJ/DOD/C_A sting over the last 50 yrs has gone down. Including the stings against pedos. I'm a survivor of pedo attacks. I know this position isn't a popular one, but if we're gonna end the bullshit, then we need to do it in a lawful AND legal manner. The fact that we don't leaves too much room for criminals to skate off.
The fact that no one has caught on yet is actually a little frightening. It means people are way too comfy giving up their power to The Fed Govt.

The answer is it depends. Merely creating an opportunity for crime isnt. But inducing or persuading someone to commit a crime that they wouldn't have otherwise committed without that persuasion, is entrapment. You can see how fine the line can get between those two.

Read up on Ruby Ridge. The whole way that thing got started was the ATF sent an informant to bully him into making illegal shotguns. They didn't just buy them from him. They convinced him to make them and offered a huge sum of money knowing he was having money troubles. All in order to get him to violate a gun law that in theory violates the 2nd amendment to begin with. Then they shot at them etc etc.
Now imagine none of it ever happened. He would have just stayed up in the mtn and never hurt anyone. He wasn't a threat to anyone. They picked the fight with him. THAT is the real problem. The feds are protecting anyone. They aren't chasing criminals. They are the criminals.

this is what happened when they took the "walls down" between agencies after 9/11. cia fuckers use entrapment all the time over seas, now they use it here at the fbi to bolster their status. create a crime, entrap people, then solve it to shape the narrative and get a promotion, or blackmail the perp if they have something you or the fbi wants.
Yeah, they did really well in Michigan. They used their infiltrators and informants to stop the kidnapping of Governor Whitmer. What heroes!
Of course, if they had not co-opted some local groups to help them get such a kidnapping organised it would never have been a threat in the first place. Also remember that the original plan was to storm the Capitol in Michigan. Once they get a good idea they are reluctant to give it up.

I'd put it to you that there is zero evidence that the FBI is a functioning law enforcement body.
Imagine your local sheriff being caught doing assassinations over and over again, or providing bodyguard services to terrorists, pedos, thieves.. running mafiaesque intimidation rackets.. death threats.. shaking down businesses and stealing their funds. All the while throwing away every 'hot tip' that people try to send their way.. but only once they have warned the criminal of the citizen that has noticed their foul deeds, and where this citizen lives, where their children go to school..

I agree, it is difficult but not impossible. You have pensions tied to tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of federal employees. They can be offered a buyout, reallocated to park ranger status, freeway trash pickers any number of solutions are possible. Or take away the funding apparatus - instead of “abolish the police” it will be “abolish the feds.” But we cannot allow them to turn wherever they end up into another secret police agency. History has a tendency to repeat itself.
