That's an interesting point that routes can be manipulated so we spend money in places they choose. Haven't thought of this before.

Parks and Rec - The Grizzle company was shown to basically be a coffee marketing tool. Their only purpose was to direct people to the nearest starbucks by any means.

Yeah my mind was a little blown for a second. Of course they’d be doing that, but damn, it’s hard for honest people to even conceive of such deception.

We’re getting a firsthand lesson in systemic oligarchic corruption. Although this google thing isn’t much compared to Q drops, it just goes to show that citizens must be critical of any and all services. Especially free ones.

Wendy Rogers is clearly razor sharp. It’s amazing seeing someone BASED getting so much support. As her influence grows she seems to become more confident in dropping red pills. Very excited to see where she goes in life… Governor? VP? President?

I work in cyber security, and I try to get everyone I know to read a book called Future Crimes by Marc Goodman. It will really open your eyes to how much data we leak to every FREE application and service we use.

if you are on a road trip you should take scenic routes!

Yeah, and as most freeways have turned into speedways, especially with the help of keen eyes, spidey sense and my trusty radar detector, the interstates are the best way to get to and from the scenic routes. Now, for a Harley ride, America's bi-ways are best, especially when time permits! Happy summer, American Patriots!

You might be surprised to find that for many interstate routes, there are non-interstate routes (in full, or in part) that offer significantly greater sight-seeing opportunity and aesthetic quality for little extra time.

You might also be surprised to plug in seemingly out-of-the-way mid-points in the automatically generated route, and find that Google is not choosing the fastest route for you, or even the shortest.

If speed isn't the primary consideration, then seek and consider alternate routes. If speed is the primary consideration, consider changing your plans and priorities.

On our way home from the beach last year, google told us to take an exit. We didn't know our way around (clearly because we were using Google directions) and it put us right in the middle of a BLM protest. My husband made an illegal turn and got back on the highway. We are convinced it was purposefully done.

So it's reasonable to conclude that Goondoggle conspired to have you assaulted and your vehicle destroyed. They have earned every bit of contempt and retailiation that can be mustered against them! I would love to see that monstrosity dissassembled and taken to the scrap heap . . .

Don't get me started on when your pulling a trailer.

Yeah - we need to spread the good ones around and not have them compete with each other . . . They will then run against the treasonous incumbents and collusive libtard challengers.

You can still use GPS, you just have to be able to READ THE MAP ITSELF and manipulate the route as you see fit. Waze is a good example, you can literally just drag the route around with your finger.

Very good suggestion - I'm more the old school type; I print directions before leaving and use paper. Also I go to Bing maps rather than google.

I am the same as you. Everyone thinks I am crazy for printing out directions but if you just use google maps, you'll forget how to get anywhere, you'll rely on them to get places as well as telling google where you are and where you are going.

If you don't have a smartphone, you won't miss it.

Honestly google maps has screwed me so many times, it's not as accurate as they want to make people believe it is. I have a smartphone, I just disable everything google about it. I know that doesn't stop them completely from tracking me somehow, but I have confirmed it's not tracking my whereabouts anymore - they have a website that one of our clients (I work for an attorney) used as an alibi in a criminal matter, to show that he wasn't where they thought he was (where the crime was committed), and his case was dismissed. (not trying to sell their service, but this is a true story) I used that to see if my locations have been tracked, and they haven't been. I have a pretty good navigational head about me, and I've been in lots of places for the first time, driving around and gotten myself lost more times than I can count, and I always find my way back.

Plus, I can always pull up a still map of an area to find my way around. We were in Nashville a few months back, and absolutely NO directions could get us to the Hard Rock Cafe. They all had us driving in a circle - google maps included. So I finally just pulled up a still map of the area, looked at what intersection I was at, and found my way like that.

Do you have another suggestion? Google maps has sent me in the wrong direction countless times. So has mapquest. Bing hasn't.

True. I use Waze a lot, which is now owned by Google, and it is constantly advertising to me. It freaks out when I deviate from the (their) route.

The app InRoute allows one to create their own custom routes by dropping pins. I use it to plan most of my road trips.

You can do this in Google Maps, but it's difficult to do on mobile. Better to do this on a laptop, design a route, and then save/send it to yourself or just remember it.

Hey, I will brag on google once, they have gotten me unlost or confused a couple times. I usually just follow my nose and look at the compass on a road trip. Was in the French quarter in new Orleans trying to find my way out, went to satellite and zoomed in, so that is how that ramp works. Rand McNally has lied to me before, showed highway that wasn't built yet. Wifes GPS thing on her phone is usually right, but it has tried to get me to drive across a pasture before plus the gate was locked. I made fun of it, next day I had to to get it to talk again. Ha. Road trips are fun. Lots of things to see in flyover country.

So burn more gas which drives prices up and enriches Saudi Arabia etc? Don't use is different from don't listen. You should be using a opensource GPS app that doesn't need the internet.

I'm old enough to remember when there wasnt any interstate highway system. Summer trips were from Delaware to Georgia, and I have a mental map burned into my brain of US 301, and Pedro (South of the Border) was just a restaurant and cigarettes/fireworks stand.

Better times in many ways.

I just use the map app on the phone os. Search for address to place online. Put address into map app. Use zoom, traffic, & satellite view in the app to plan how I get there. Nay even pull out the road altas, too, if it's a long trip. Write down every turn I have to take and include pitstops/hotels, too. And lastly, draw a rough not-to-scale diagram of the few streets or landmarks right next to final destination so I know I'm almost there. Way more fun than having annoying lady-voice tell me where to go.
