I have an awesome ex-OSS officer and circle track racing great uncle who wears a belt and suspenders at the same time. He calls them his uptown suspenders and his downtown suspender. And he is super short but always looks like he's ready to go logging because his wife hems his pants above his ankles like rigging pants. Lastly, in this little side trail of nonsense I've taken, and best of all, his wife recently got dementia but can still sew, so one day he was out in his cow pasture and tried to take a leak and discovered she randomly sewed shut the fly of his jeans. Bet it was extra hard with the uptown and downtown suspenders on to manage that one! He checked later, she did it to all his pants.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he only said that to not give the fake news any more ammunition to smear him with. He has been a very clear Trump supporter and has plenty of friends who were all Trump supporters, as well. He has a very solid track record, which is what's more important.

He's been saying the same stuff for decades, and was the original "uncle tom" among black liberals because he pointed out uncomfortable truths about the black community and held them accountable. He's against CRT, mask and vaccine mandates, doesn't believe systemic racism is real, and actually points out issues that people want to tiptoe around due to political correctness. He's got my vote because honestly there are no other candidates that are better or have a chance of winning. Can't get any worse than Newsom.

There isn’t one. Larry Elder has to play the game right now. There isn’t a single candidate who’s going to run in CA on the “Stolen Election” platform.
Even if he actually believes the election was fair, he’s still the best person to try and fix CA. Plus there are enough states being audited that CA isn’t needed. Once the AZ snowball gets going it won’t really matter which state goes 3rd or 27th or 50th for the audits.

Don’t worry about whether or not he seems to support Trump right now. Listen to everything Elder has been consistently saying over the past few decades. What does he believe in? What does he want to do for CA?

Yes and it's better to have someone with a based history who is willing to disagree with Trump on some things than a sycophant just riding his coattails like a bunch turned out to be when they wrote him off after 1/6 only to be lining up to kiss his ring again by March.
It's optics. Even if he does support Trump, openly doing so would tank his chances of winning in CA because even those Democrats and moderates who want Newsom out, many if not most still have TDS.
