Some of these damn school boards don't ever plan on changing their minds, they just have these meetings to let the parents Think they have a voice or vote on what they do. That's what they did at our local meeting, the parents were sooooo pissed at the end when they pretty much said it.
Our kids are all grown now, so don't have any in school. I didn't go to our local meeting because of that reason, I watched it Live online. My husband was there (working though, not as a parent) and he said tons of parents showed up. He said they were fired up, and at the end of the meeting when they realized it was all BS and they didn't plan on revoting on the masks, they got so pissed. They asked my husband what could they do? He couldn't really tell them much (again because he was working & was being recorded so he had to watch what he said, even though silently he agreed with them). He told them he understood their frustrations, to vote on the boardmembers or run for the board themselves next time.
Give them hell tonight and then keep going back to give them hell in future meetings.
Unfortunately what we’ve figured out where I live is that there is no quick fix and we will need to keep the pressure up until there are new school board members voted in.
This is a marathon, not a sprint so don’t get too frustrated if they politely listen and then totally ignore your advice. That’s what has happened in my school district.
I look at it as they’ve awakened the sleeping giant, which are all the conservatives (like my wife and I) who took some of the local issues for granted pre Covid.
Take up the Whole Armor of God (and take it with you)
Ephesians 6:13-18
13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Lord Jesus,
I ask your hand of help and courage and the Holy Spirits presence on this person and all others who are standing their ground and fighting back for what is right and just and true in schools, their communities and in our government. Be in these meetings Lord.

Ours called a “special meeting” for Thursday night…. Parents are going to fight for our kids, although we only have 1 raging liberal on the board.
