Have said this: electric cars = control of movement.
Indeed, the power grid cannot support everyone having electric vehicles. DUH!
WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIND. WAAAAATER. COWFARTS. GO PLANET!
What if youhave solar panels to charge it up
So your range is what 300 miles?
Most homeowner solar is hooked up to the power company, without a battery to store electricity for their own use. I don't know what it takes to charge an electric vehicle vs what home solar would produce, on a sunny day.
How is it any different then petrol/diesel based cars? Far easier for a citizen to get their own source of electricity then for them to manufacture their own fuel. (Crude oil > cracking tower > catalysts, refining and additives) as opposed to solar/wind for individual use, small transformer, possiblly battery and a compatible charger. I suppose biodiesel is an option but even that requires a compatible/speacilised engine
So you have your own solar or wind and set it up to charge your vehicle. That will get you what 300 miles? 150 miles then back home. Citizens are not to be limited to that range.
We already have the infrastructure for gasoline and diesel. We do not have the infrastructure for all vehicles to require electric charging. Of course fuel pumps run on electricity, but a station could I suppose run those pumps on a generator, given that they have the fuel.
Sad we even have to contemplate the powers to be might shut off our means of transportation . . .
Fuel supply chain is a constant need. Fuel becomes defunct after about 3 months. Without constant drilling and refining we w Ont be able to supply enough. Government needs to put one stop in the fears and petroleum is dead to the citizens. I'd prefer petroleum in a perfect society, but in one where gov can and will clamp down on me, I want one I can fuel myself and preferably cut back on all the useless tech that just tracks you and makes your car hackable.
In the day [18th century for sure], even city dwellers had a cow and a horse in the back of their town lot. [There were common pastures]. We may all need to take up the Amish lifestyle. There aren't enough horses, though . . . unless all preppers get a horse and the demand steps up the supply . . .
Electric cars in a place with rolling blackouts
It will be SO much worse. I bet it won't be long and people will be using portable generators by the hundreds to recharge their electric cars... which is of course 20 times more carbon than a car would make.
California recently outlawed many small gas engines.
They might have this covered too.
There are enough farms in California to generate enough methane waste for biofuel.
Wait until you're stuck in a snow storm unable to charge the batts, watching the heater going cold!
PS how big will the battery's need to be for a farmer to plough a field for 12 hrs or combine for 24hrs a day?
To big to not have some sort of special and extremely expensive certifications to go along with them. Not to mention if one of those decided to go nuclear. Also you cant work on electric cars without the very likely hood of dying. I owned a hybrid back in 05. Biggest mistake in my car buying life. The battery lasted the usual 2 years then had to get a 5000 dollar replacement. That's without install. That's super expensive because they can only be worked on by electric car certified guys that come along with tons of insurance and yearly training that has to be paid for. By you of course. The shops that these things are worked in has to have hazard zones around the car so someone doesn't catch an arch if something is exposed. Huge liabilities, expensive equipment, and specialized shops have to be paid for. By you of course.
Yup not to mention when one of these things catches fire, it burns for days!
The smoke is pretty non-toxic too, I bet. And then you just send it to the car-crusher to melt down into more metal, right?
The only thing keeping a Li-Po battery from bursting into flames is the electrical charge.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. This is quite possibly the most ironic thing I have ever seen in my entire life. (I should probably wait on that though. Vaxxes aren't done doing their thing.) This is 100% awesome.
LOL who didn’t see this coming.
Going to be hilarious in the summer when the air conditioning load is at max. Charging cars will be banned from 10am to 10pm
It's not about electric cars. It's about the lack of nuclear power plants. Nuclear is the only viable solution to our electricity issues. Blaming electric cars is just a diversion.
Ask yourself why anytime a Tesla is in a crash, it's always "TESLA crashed" but whenever any other car crashes or catches on fire, it's just a CAR. It's all a diversion. Ask yourself for what reason.
Yeah look up ‘LFTR in 5 min’
I get smarter everyday on here.
YAYYY, LFTR! I still don't know enough about it but THANK YOU, FiatLux! Every paper, every video I've seen about LFTR influences me to think that there's not enough money in it for the black-hats who want to poison us all or incinerate us in a nuclear flash. LFTR MUST BE TOO CHEAP AND USABLE AND SAFE!!
Womp womp
I drink schadenfreude and eat popcorn. LOL
Lololol. I know how to solve this, let's all go buy diesel generators to fuel our electric cars!
Well, them RV rigs have gas powered generators; why not EVs?
The Chevy Volt tried that concept.
The BMW i3 also tried this (a less good design as the performance was bad with the gas motor running).
Nothing is stopping me from carrying a generator around... two bbq cylinders holds the same energy as a 90kWh Tesla battery, even accounting for losses. (I own a Tesla and looked into this)
This made me bust out laughing.
Now that's funny!
Maybe they can fit solar panels to the car roofs?
Musk answered that question once. Because it’s quite a good question really, like why not get some charge, however minor, if it’s parked in the sun all day.
His answer was something about the panels and associated extra equipment would never ever pay for itself in the life of the car. Waste of resources that could be put into more worthwhile solar installations
Simple solution...
Just drive to another state to recharge.
Old news though.
So he can gAin fake internet points like a faggot
But what would Greta say?
How DARE you!
😂🤣😂🤣 u/#Clownworld
Under pressure from what? Electricity moves faster in the cold.
God I love my diesel! And my carbureted Harley's! And my electric fence. 🤣
Same thing happened in Nevada this past summer. We were encouraged to turn off our air conditioners or raise them to 80+ degrees and told to not charge electric vehicles.
Ha! That picture is from a light day of traffic or closer to 10 am.
You can't fix stupid
