You know something, I have been noticing the same thing... spelling and grammatical mistakes are on the rise, in my opinion. I think this was a growing problem already, but has been exacerbated by the bioweapons.
Publishers send me books to edit in MS Word. Frequently, it suggests "corrections" that are wrong. It's especially keen on "people that" instead of "people who".
I have also found that when I use Siri, she wants to change the pronouns from they, to he, or her. And other types of random changes.
Perhaps the constant changing of the meaning of words, and how we perceive gender, and how they’re pushing that narrative so heavily, it’s even confusing the AI

I am a phenomenal speller but must proofread every single thing because the auto-correct and predictive spelling looks like it's being done by a 1st grader from China who doesn't speak English. Also could be that the school system doesn't have time to teach spelling cause they're too busy teaching about gender diversity.
I can't spell, my verbiage reads like a overdosing squirrel, and my spell check either is napping or giving a shoulder shrugging "got nothing for ya" middle finger.
No it's diversity hires. My friend works for a news outlet that just offended Geece by grouping Istanbul with them in a map, Google it. It was the fault of a diversity hire that they are too afraid of firing and he knows it so he does shit work.
I have noticed this as well. And it really irks me. Back in the day, when they were doing at least somewhat real journalism, there is no way an article would be released with a typo, or incorrect grammar. This is happening all the time now.
I don’t know if it’s COM‘s, or it’s just flat out laziness. I mean once the articles posted anybody can see a headline that has a typo in it. Because it is online, they could update it immediately and the problem would go away. But they seem to keep it. They just leave it with an inaccuracy. This to me seems more on purpose.
I notice a disturbing incidence of illiteracy in most social media posting (not here, so much). Often garbled meaning and inability to use the concept of a sentence. Like a transcript of a Valley Girl's monologue. Maybe that's it: people have forgotten how to write, and think it is only a matter of verbal transcription.
I think this ties into the increasing tendency for people to resort to videos for argumentative backup, instead of written references. Videos are terribly time-consuming, since one can read text about 4-5 times faster than listen to spoken words. Videos also get lost in narcissism and dramatic distraction. I keep thinking it is a regression from the written word to the spoken word. People would rather go for days waiting for an opportune moment to have a phone conversation, than simply write a letter and put it in the mail (or e-mail). I am not encouraged by the popular use of technology to become mentally lazy or unintelligent.
I went to work full time to sleep indoors when I was 14 or 15. Forgive me for not worrying to much about English. I did manage to build a company and sell it to a fortune 100 company a while back. I think I did the right thing.
I was speaking with my dyslexic 84-year-old friend yesterday. He was bemoaning the fact that he never had an education; he has to get his wife to fill out forms. "I've done OK but I just wonder how much more I could have achieved if I could actually understand English and communicate effectively," he said.
I am not making excuses. I just don't care about you Grammer pigs. If you want to put people down for poor grammar maybe I should put you down for being great at English but to dumb to build and sell a company so you don't have to work so much. Tit for tat. :)
So, get to work moron.

Maybe that's what it is. People's brains not working right. It's definitely something.
maybe, but prob has more to do with too much reliance or spell/grammar checker and not proofreading due to wanting to get it out first

Vax brain. I've noticed a dramatic increase in car accidents too (I'm a trucker). 60% of our nation are literal zombies now.

Where are you getting this info?
Why does your Profile say "Error: Invalid user" ??
I have noticed this also. Bots?

Plus, a bunch of college new-hires that depend upon auto-correct, and otherwise don't know how to spell or use correct grammar.
GWP probably doesn't have any paid copy editors.
Aha! Someone who maybe knows the difference between "copy editor" and "proof reader"? Most people don't.

Actually, many schools have ditched the "traditional" Spelling Lessons and incorporated it all under "Language Arts". IMO, that's a big mistake.
Yeah, that seems like a bad idea.
Software
I have been seeing this problem for several years. All the sites need several copy editors each. Sadly, copy editors very few these days.
Your “news” is written by bots or the CCP .
I've been thinking about this. If it's true, are the bots breaking down? Is the matrix breaking apart? Why all the new typos?
Hardly. We haven’t even seen AI in full potential. It’s coming.
They don't have spelling karens like here
Top KEK!
So true. When I see people complaining about grammar and other things related to punctuation on this forum, I just have to laugh.
Not to mention if you use Siri, she will change many words when you press save. She’s a bitch like that.
Yes grammar software. DailyMail has been using them for years. Probably many newspapers.
I see it a lot on the daily mail in the UK too, has me feeling there are hidden comms involved.
Just like some foreign shill would write
More diversity hires or that they are not teaching anyone very well in school.
I can't spell, my verbiage reads like a overdosing squirrel, and my spell check either is napping or giving a shoulder shrugging "got nothing for ya" middle finger.
Actually, I believe it's just laziness and lack of proofreading.
Lack of copy editing, you mean.

Before I click on this, can you tell me what it is? I'm very curious

Based on what exactly?
So basically you're more paranoid than anything. Okay.
