I’ve often thought the horrifically abused must make the best actors. They must “pretend” their entire lives. It’s like living with the little crazy kid on the twilight zone with the power to punish people who didn’t do what he wanted.
Pitt and Tarantino did a 15 minute interview together (in the extra features of Inglorious Basterds) where they talked about the accent. It was... Not what Tarantino wanted, but they went with it.
Did you see the movie Changling? It was about a kidnapped boy from DeKalb Ill. They used the pronunciation of DeKalb as pronounced in DeKalb, Georgia. It is totally different. All of the locals just laughed at how stupid it sounded every time those actors mispronounced it.

The camo looks like a Russian pixel pattern (they have 8). Only pic of Ukraine pixel camo I could find shows more tan blocks.
