You cannot underestimate formal training though. This is often the difference between two well armed armies.
Well trained, sure. But the idea of being "military" incites images of tactical operations, smooth operator. I've known many military folk who are boneheaded, alcoholic, and can't shoot to save their lives.
I'm not judging, just offering perspective. Just like when something is "military grade" doesn't mean anything as military often issues the cheapest possible shit

It can, I don't know how other countries run their training. I imagine that we also have regulations as to how hard you can push or punish someone. For all we know, Russian military has to meet strict standards and they actually get punished instead of having to do stuff like mop up rainwater outside during a storm 🤷♂️
Doing something for "fun" doesn't mean forgoing formal knowledge of a subject. Maybe you find said knowledge "fun," and some random 18-yo (who just wants to go to university for free) thinks of it as a chore.

Agreed, not totally disarmed - yet. But their rights have been greatly eroded, even more so this week. If it keeps up, which it likely will, it won't be long before they're utterly defenseless.
The only good thing is the next time they fly to NORAD for drills we get to keep their planes since you can't import firearms into Canada anymore.

Unconventional View:
They don't want you disarmed. They want you armed to the teeth with what are basically spitballs in comparison to weapons of modern war. If you believe in the concept of the uniparty, RINO's, globalism, etc., ask yourself a few questions. 1. If they want the people disarmed, why hasn't the uniparty, SC, etc. reinterpret the Constitution or pass new legislation? Why do RINO's always "save the day" when it comes to gun control legislation? All that's happened is FEAR of a ban that resulted in MOAR people panic buying. 2. What would justify, from a historical sense, an armed AI drone swarm or electronic warfare on a populace?
To be clear, I'm not opposed to the 2A or the idea that small arms are necessary for a free society. In fact, I think the 2A should be interpreted more liberally to include all weapons necessary for a militia to defend the country. But, I don't think the current interpretation/allowance of the 2A is sufficient. It's almost like they're applying enough pressure to get a strong enough push back before an effective rug pull if that makes sense.
Sorry, but we are being invaded on our southern border and no guns down there.
