Just curious, remember a few months back the .wins were allowing any and all forums to be created. There were a few that were highly suspect, very racist. Anyway, I was poking around and it looks - to me anyway - that these .wins don’t exist anymore. I must have missed what happened. Anyone have any info on what that was all about?

Not trying to cause any controversy just genuinely curious.

Which communities are you talking about?

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– CrimsonSentinal 2 points 4 years ago +2 / -0

I don’t remember the names exactly. I may have screen grabbed them but I have to search through a bunch of files if I did. There were two that jumped out blatantly one was called n***ers.win and one was a straight up white supremacist site. At the time I remember there being dozens and dozens of other random communities that I don’t see anymore.

Did they all get culled or was it a glitch that allowed just random people to make communities? I remember the concern was these types of .wins would make GAW and the Donald/Patriots look bad (guilt by association). But then the whole free speech argument was being thrown around. I hadn’t paid attention beyond that hence my inquiry.

Went in for surgery yesterday. Cannot wear a mask due to severe anxiety. Nurse said that the person who does the IV will only do it if I'm masked. I said no. "Can't you just hang it loosely just for five minutes?" That's when the control showed through, see? I said, no again. My husband also cannot wear a mask due to COPD. So we were both treated like we were problem children. Finally got the IV by the second nurse who scolded us the whole time for putting eveone else at risk. I asked her if she had put patients on ventilators and remdesivir. She said indeed she had. I started to weep. I then was left in my pre-op room four hours with no check-in by a single nurse. I was going to pull out the IV and leave but that caused my poor husband to fret. We had to be there at 7am I was taken back dead last. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act forbids discrimination against anyone due to disability if that entity receives federal funding. Nursing plans require an IV to be checked ever so often, right? I was already anxious enough as it was. I guess the staff taught me a lesson, huh?

I may have some stomach issue: during the lockdown, I got used to skipping supper. I kinda like how it improved my sleep.

Then progressively, I went back to have a bit in the late afternoon and my back began giving me Hell again at night.

Yesterday, I vowed not to eat past lunch (I also didn’t before this sole meal of the day). I slept really well… AND my knee pain went away.

I guess my stomach pain was irradiating through my back and my buttocks which inflammated a nerve giving me the thigh cramps leading my knee to hurt.

Anyway, as Zappa said: « Anything over a mouthful is wasted. » or King Henri IV of France: « The great eaters and sleepers never did anything great. »

You should look into intermittent fasting. If you can fast 14-16 hours between last meal of the day and first meal next day, it supposed to do wonders to your immune system. It might help why your pains disappeared.

Some back (spine) issues radiate to buttocks and give joint (knee) pain too. May be piriformis related (sitting too much). Try the dead hang exercise - just hanging half a minute to one minute from bars.

Over the years I have found my diet, and eating patterns, greatly influences my joints and inflammation. Allows for much more influence!

However, early ignored traumatic injuries make today's knee replacement the best idea for that joint. Have been eating to not inflame going in to today's surgery, and will continue after for quick healing!

Gotta be able to stand and run in this war.

I stopped eating bread and pasta and my stomach issues went away. I also do intermittent fasting which means I just skip breakfast and only eat at noon and 6pm. The inflammation has improved tremendously. I have a lot of orthopedic issues and the pain is 95% better. I thought all along it was a dairy problem but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. I’m trying to eat just protein, dairy and vegs and avoiding fructose, flour, corn and refined stuff. Maybe something like this might help you? I can’t believe how much better I feel.

I stopped eating bread, pasta & white potatoes and my bloating issues went away along with my headaches. Lost weight, but I'm back to eating bread sometimes (not everyday and not a lot) and I've noticed my headaches have started creeping back again. So seems like something in bread causes me to get migraines & of course I started very slowly gaining weight again. It's just so hard sometimes to figure out what to eat.

I wanted to reply, sorry for the delay. It could be the gluten in the breads or a wheat sensitivity. It’s hard to say. I have issues with breads, pasta, beer and so it could be gluten or grains. Anyway, don’t get too down about it because there are some solutions. I would eliminate all grains for at least a little while and sub some things (see below) to satisfy cravings. Also, red wine gives me migraines and so does chocolate in large quantities. They say aged cheeses can bring them on as well. So be careful with those.

Ok, so for the fun stuff- allow some substitutes for the breads and pasta. I was initially skeeved out by cauliflower substitutes but they’re not bad! I’ve had keto cauliflower pizza and waffles and look forward to them now. I just don’t have syrup. I use the waffle as a bread sub and only have one or two. A breakfast sandwich made from egg, cheese, maybe bacon with a couple waffles is great! I have it for lunch a lot. I don’t feel like I’m missing out. There is cauliflower pasta, too. I’ve never tried it but might soon. You’ll find these in the freezer section. When I have pizza, I only have half and pair it with a spinach salad or something.

I eat a lot of sauerkraut. It’s really good for you. If you have it with meat, it’s kind of like having a starch (mentally.)

I have salads with added almonds or pecans. Add a protein like salmon, eggs, tuna, chicken or steak abd cheese and you won’t go hungry.

I’ve made things like deep dish pizza without the crust, using ground beef as a base with sauce, cheese, toppings. You just leave out the breadcrumbs but make it like a meatloaf base.

I make biscuits out of almond flour. I found a good recipe. There are actually a lot of desserts you can make with almond flour. I’m not skilled in the baking dept. but you can search for those. Tons of websites for keto baking using almond flour. I’ve tried coconut flour and thought I had appendicitis. Be careful, the pain was real.

I use the keto friendly tortillas made with flaxseed when I make burgers or anything needing a bun, wrap, taco etc. they are 60 Cals but I cut one in half. It’s pretty good. They usually sell them in the bread aisle.

Speaking of bread- don’t buy it. Don’t have it around. If people in your house want it, get a bin or something where you won’t see it. Put it out of your mind. It’s easier if you don’t have it calling your name. Same with pasta. Don’t keep it where you’ll see it. I have lots of stuff like rice, beans, pasta in my prepping storage but none in my kitchen so I don’t see it.

I started cooking parsnips when I crave potatoes. Not too often but maybe once every couple weeks. Just cut them into 1” pieces, toss with salt, pepper and any other seasoning and olive oil and bake at 425 top rack for about 25-30 mins. So good. They aren’t 100% keto but it’s a good sub for fries etc. I cook a lot of Brussels sprouts this way and other vegs. You can just take a bag of frozen veg, prep it the same way and bake for slightly longer (35 min usually) and they come out perfect. With Brussels sprouts, I add some red pepper flakes and toss with butter and a teaspoon of honey after they’re almost charred in the oven. As good as crack. Which...I’ve never tried but I think it’s probably as good.

I have a ton of favs but check out a few links below and most of all, don’t get discouraged. It’s about making lifestyle changes, not diets. It’s about feeling better. Stay awesome!

My all time fav chicken is from hello fresh. https://www.hellofresh.com/recipes/pecan-crusted-chicken-6203c3d357b8e37e4638262a *skip the panko, it’s not needed.

Wow! Thanks for getting back to me with this abundance of great information! I have never had parsnips before, will have to give them a try. The only times I've eaten brussel sprouts is when they've been breaded & fried.

Yes, out of site out of mind for sure! I've always loved bread! Thought it was going to be terribly hard to give it up but wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Even talked my husband to try eating less of it, and he hasn't gone back to it.

If I have alternatives to bread for an egg sandwich that would be amazing. I feel like just one egg isn't enough to keep me till next mealtime. I will have to try cauliflower waffle as my bread.

When we eat hamburgers at home, we don't use a bun, season it before putting it in the oven or on the grill, we slap cheese on when it's done and put it on the plate like that, no ketchup or mustard or anything. Usually eat it with sweet potato tots. Chicken we usually cook it in a pan with a little water, season them and cover to let cook.

My husband is Puerto Rican so when he cooks, he will always make some rice. I just eat a little bit with whatever meat he cooks and half an avocado. Avocado is so good with rice. Sometimes he adds beans (red beans or pigeon peas) to the rice. I remember when money was super tight, we would make extra rice so we would have left over the next night and add like two hot dogs, scrambled eggs, a little onion. We just cook it all together, add seasoning (or add a little soy sauce) and bam that was dinner.

Thanks for the links, I will take a gander at them! Can always use some recipes to eat better.

You’re welcome. Sorry it was long! I hadn’t tried parsnips either until recently. They don’t have a strong flavor of anything except a hint of carrot. You can boil and mash them. I did that and the texture was sort of like mashed potatoes. Not bad. I like them cooked in the oven, though. Thanks for some ideas as well. I should use more avocado. I sincerely hope you feel better. I grew up eating whatever I wanted, never a worry until the past couple years when everything seems to be creeping up. Diet changed a lot of it for the better.

TGIF! Frens, I hope you've all had a good week and have a great weekend.

We hopefully will get the one side of our backyard fencing replaced (fingers crossed) depending on if we get storms or not. Parts of the fence is being held up by the neighbor's vines, lol. And maybe get some target practice in.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Get that fence fixed before material costs go up xD

I say that tongue in cheek, but my uncle's condoin Spain needs repairs but the other 3 condo owners couldn't agree on it. This last year, every few weeks costs soared and by the time they all finally agreed the prices had doubled. Every few weeks, a new estimate had to be redone to evaluate the cost and it got evidently more expensive each time...with only a matter of weeks between estimates.

Everyone put them off because of how expensive it was, and now everyone has to pay way more.

As for my weekend, probably taking my dad for some pickleball, and my brother for tennis.

Yep it cost almost $600 for one side of fence materials and we still have to buy the nails/screws. My husband rather use screws for the fence, but he's having some friends come help that build fences for work, and he said they will probably want to use nails to use with a nail gun.

I just hope this hurricane season is nice to us and skip us (just gonna say hope it skips everyone forever). Today we got such strong winds I thought a tree or two from neighbors yard were gonna come down on our house or shed. It blew me back a few steps at one point. I scooped up our puppy and said time to go in little stinker.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– KickingPugilist 2 points 4 years ago +2 / -0

Yikes, that's a lot for materials. The nails are much quicker, but the screws are much more sturdy and will hold stronger and for longer, nails like to loosen over time.

Those strong winds are a force to be reckoned with. We had a few hurricanes hit the northeast where I live and even up here they uprooted trees and smashed them into homes, crushed cars, flying roof shingles were being flicked around outside, many homes flooded, tons of cars flooded out. Hurricanes are a spectacle to watch on video, but living through them is a totally different experience. It's intense, and the power outages for days after the fact are a whole problem in and of themselves.

My husbands family is on the opposite side of the island from San Juan. The beaches are a little different there, more tree shade, less crowded and peaceful. When you go inland you experience more of how folks live. Beware of crazy ass drivers, I refuse to drive there. People don’t have central AC, If they have ac it’s a window unit but it’s actually put in the wall not a window. They cut an opening in the side of the house to install them. They only turn them on when they are in the bedrooms, then turn them off when they leave the rooms. Also same with hot water heaters, they only get turned on when they need to shower. Electricity is so expensive there as is food. But neighbors help neighbors. Family & friends have get togethers just to have them to eat, drink, laugh and dance. And when we visit we have to make sure to hit all the family members houses and they expect to feed you at each one, lol. Now that the kids are grown I’d like to visit in the winter time. Not that it gets really cold there, but it’s got to be better than the summer. Summertime is crazy hot & humid, and mosquitoes eat me alive (which they do no matter where we are in the summer). Been waiting for all this crazy plandemic stuff to be totally over first. I’m not getting tested or take the jab for anyone. Thankfully masks are done on the flights. Don’t know if they still expect people to test before or right after arriving there or not.

There have been a lot of "mass" shootings lately. I think the DS is in a panic, don't think they have pulled off so many FF shootings before. Think maybe they're panicking and trying extra hard to take our guns away because it's the only way now for them to try to stay in power. If they don't get our guns they know we can fight back if it comes to it, and that they can't take total control of us until our guns are gone.

I overheard a segment from someone my brother was listening to that broke down by decade how many shootings like this occurred. 1950's had 0 or 1, 60's were also very tame, maybe it was 1 or 2. 70s a little more, etc but when the 90's and 2000's hit they went up sharply.

The point was that guns weren't doing this, something else was, like mental illness or meds.

I knew this before, but never so concisely laid out like that.

This is not a 'fringe conspiracy' site: Visit https://conspiracies.win if that's your thing!

No doomers or shills

If you can't use common sense, you'll get banned without hesitation. If you're a shill, you fall under this rule. If you're a doomer, you fall under this rule as you just add garbage to the site like the other two. This includes forum sliding.

General Rules

  • Mods will issue NO warnings, followed by temporary bans and/or permanent bans. DO NOT GRIEF THE MODS.

  • Keep posts related to topics Q has raised or that are current.

  • Keep post duplication (especially from other .WINs) to a minimum.

  • HIGH EFFORT, HIGH-INFO posts only! Please respect other readers' time. Please use descriptive titles. No URLs in titles, pls. No clickbait.

  • No fame-fagging; no, "your" post did not get removed! Were you the original author?? Eyes on the prize, people!

  • Memes encouraged, but no low-quality, low-info posts.

  • Keep it honest and accurate.

  • GAW Supporters ONLY. (Sorry, the train had no brakes.)

  • Handshake noobs will be scrutinized by their Q knowledge, sincerity, and respect.

  • Remember, your conduct here represents the Q movement! OUR ENEMIES ARE WATCHING!

  • Please direct all complaints to modmail first!
