Okay we all know Netflix and the rest are totally corrupted. But is it wrong to want some entertainment? Is everything infiltrated and gross? Feels like it. I haven't been able to find anything to watch that doesn't seem devil inspired. For real. It's awful. And please no "turn off the tube" lectures. I barely watch TV or movies. I would say maybe an hour a week and that's just because my husband is watching. But once in awhile it is nice to lose yourself in good movie. But they are all ruined for me at this point.

I fully believe celebrity idolation and worship have contributed largely to western decline.
That said, I love a good movie or watching a really old TV series. I need to lose myself to get away from it all.
I'm just careful how I spend my entertainment $$$.
I like watching older movies.
Tubi is a good channel for old movies.
Do you have a favorite? I haven't watched anything good in a while.
The Quiet Man
Great Escape
Man for All Seasons
It's a Wonderful Life
Ben Hur
Anything Alfred Hitchcock
Most John Ford
Patton
To Kill a Mockingbird
Gettysburg
Glory
Gone With the Wind
That's a start. Many more.
I always like the great escape.
A Fish Called Wanda
I like watching older sci-fi movies, the older horror classics and the 1950s & 60s fantasy movies... before Hollywood became preachy and "woke"... and while special effects were still developing.
Those were the days when an entire movie staff, including hair dresser, costuming, lighting, sound... was a few dozen people. Actors had to act. Movies weren't made as commercials for a sequel.
The Daily Wire has ventured into moving making. They have a Gina Carano film right now. She is the actress from The Mandalorian who was fired for not being a Hollywood thought clone. They also have documentaries like What is a Woman. Then Tim Pool is venturing out into music. He hired The OffSpring drummer , Pete Parada, who was fired for having a medical reason for not taking the vaxx. So, slowly a new parallel economy is growing.
Thanks for these I will check them out. For so long they have tried to convince us that only liberals can be creative. It just isn't true. We need to start working on this in earnest.
Yes. This is one of the biggest stereotypes of all. Seems like you have to be bleeding-heart lib to be taken seriously in the art world.
GAW is life
OMG I remember Quantum Leap!
Wait til you find out Babylon 5's Jeffrey Sinclair = Jeffrey Epstein
Sinclair.
Cabal family name
Played by Michael O'Hara
"Micheael = Microphone. O = Ring Hare = Rabbit (recall the Playboy connection above)
Note the debut!
02/22/1993 Jeffrey Epstein obtains Zorro Ranch from King.
02/22/1993 Jeffrey Sin: Babylon 5 debut "

It‘s been a while since I watched B5 (I still got all 5 Seasons on DVD).
Could you elaborate a bit more on Sinclair=Epstein? Or give me a hint where to dig myself?

Since you've watched all the seasons, you may come across even more connections.
TY!
I recently discovered Kanopy - it is tied to your library card and you can watch movies for free. I've been watching classics on it. I know what you mean by everything feeling infiltrated and gross, but yeah, there were some good things on Netflix too.
Go watch anything with Mel Gibson if you like action. Rob Schneider if you need to laugh. Kevin Sorbo. Tim Allen. Mike Rowe! (Dirty Jobs FTW!) There's still a few good people out there.
I just got done watching the bristol 1000 on cleetervision. Mr. Freedom Factory put on a good show all weekend.
New forms of wholesome entertainment are gaining traction.
I'm feeling the same, fren. Don't even have a tv now, very old one started to smell like hot electronics, but want one and a way to view selectively with no damn drug commercials and to use what few DVDs we do have. The things watchable on a laptop toe free are full of the pharma commercials. 14 repetitive ones in a few hrs. No wonder people are hypochondriacs obsessed with meds!
I’ve been watching older hollywood movies. Watched the transporter last night. Pull out your old DVD player. You’ve already paid for those so you’re not adding any money to the enemy coffers.
I just watch some videos on youtube there is a good band up n coming breathing life into rock. 3 sisters from Mexico. The Warning. Listening to their lyrics seems like the young ladies are not fans of libtardia. A bit based....and refreshing as hell real talent play actual instruments. Write their own music and dont dress like a bunch of downtown hookers. The youngest now 17 was already a Spector premiere bassist at 15. Their first recognition was when they were 13 11 and 9 playing a spot on take on Enter Sandman. Then they do a version on Metallica's blacklist album. Made it their own yet still give great nod to the original. Thankful for their presence in the world. Gives me hope.
Henry Cavill in Monte Cristo?
damn. didn't even recognise him
I agree :)
The chosen series is very good
You mention Netflix. There is a decent amount of entertainment from Asian nations. I think the Korean ones are best, but there are a few Japanese, Taiwanese and even Chinese that are pretty good.
One of the best I've seen is currently on Netflix. Hotel Del Luna. !6 hour plus long episodes. Cultural, spiritual backdrop is Confucionary teachings, but the basic themes are repentance and redemption. Beautifully shot and acted.
Want a cute comedy? On Youtube you can find EXO Next Door. Again 16 episodes, but only about 15 minutes each. Also an introduction to one of the most popular kpop groups worldwide (BTS level popularity except in the United States). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgbFZFxf-Wg&list=PLmHOifGNSUr2oS1kVvoCKv01Nvu58HBDx
Want to laugh but also cry? Find Goblin. https://drama.fandom.com/wiki/Goblin
Want a superhero, romcom thriller? Find Strong Girl/Woman Bong Soon. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6263222/
Want a Romcom based around a gamer in a first person shooter? Try Love Scenery. Chinese with pretty good scenes of "in game play". I really enjoyed the actors playing the "in game roles" without knowing who their partner was. https://www.bilibili.tv/en/video/2004528713
Want to watch an anime that isn't a kajillion episodes and is appropriate for most of the family? Try BOFURI: I DON'T WANT TO GET HURT, SO I'LL MAX OUT MY DEFENSE. I watched it on Hulu. Lots of fun. Only 12 episodes and available both subbed and dubbed.
And then there is probably the first Asian movie (korean) that I watched. It was the MTV dubbed version of Volcano High. Very campy, lots of fun. https://www.veoh.com/watch/v6340476mcRnatQT
I rarely pay attention to anything out of Hollywood and have even started to be particular with my Marvel Universe choices (after the Infinity Saga). I also skip almost all regular TV, especially news.
So the golden age for entertainment has been over. Find something else for entertainment or go explore some classics.
That's it.
If you are into musicals check out productions by Sight and Sound in PA
Check out Loor.tv
Brilliant concept.
We only stream. I find great comfort in the TV stuff from the 60s and 70s. Movies from before that. There is some more modern stuff from out of Canada that we watch but in general everything modern has a backbone of woke.
Thanks I will check it out!
Some of the old Twilight Zones are incredible. Hard to believe they were ever produced out of Hollywood. Did you ever see The Obsolete Man? it's probably my . all time favorite.
It was probably me.
