Todd Bowles has worked his ass off for a head coaching position for the second time after having to rebuild his career after his failed New York Jets tenure, and he still can't get any respect
Fired from the Jets, goes on to win a super bowl as Bucs defensive coordinator with a stellar defense, gets a rare second chance as head coach, and reporters are more worried about his skin tone
He was amazing for the Cardinals. Bruce Arians, his head coach for the Cards and Buc, fought to bring him on. Bruce recognized talent regardless of race, and I believe that's part of why Todd here is saying he has close friends in the league who are also white, and that ultimately race doesn't matter.
Being black didn't make him win for the Jets. Being black didn't make him win for the Buc. Being a strong defensive mind and having his players trust is what's working.

It’s honestly embarrassing to hear such ignorance from these reporters and I feel uncomfortable for him, although he’s obviously conquered that crap, I still can’t but feel a cringe when anyone puts someone on the spot like this, especially for something we all recognized at birth REPORTERS: “So 36 years later, do you know you are black and there is another ‘one’ too, we were wondering if y’all stayed together like a gang when you noticed people were other color’s especially white, also.
