Large amounts of miserable people come through my workplace daily. It's astonishing to watch the brainwashing and what it's done to society. They either don't see it or don't want to.
Pain seems to describe it well because the way they have knee-jerk reactions when defending their 'truth' is almost like they are in pain and are trying to avoid getting hurt.
People who might act normal 90% of the time will suddenly do a 180 and reveal a more hostile personality when their beliefs are challenged even slightly.
Maybe in your neck of the woods. But not in zombieland where I live.
Example: Day after the election, colleagues talking about how they stayed up late watching election returns, and couldn’t go to sleep until they saw that Fetterman won. One of them replied, “oh yeah he’s really cool.” At first I thought he was being sarcastic, but no, he was dead serious.
Context: I work in a heavily leftist industry in NYC.
My advice is to save yourselves. Let’s get this show on the road already, and stop worrying about who is or isn’t awake and aware. Rip the bandaid off and let the chips fall where they may. Maybe I’ll manage to be one of the very few survivors in this city of ashes by holding the line.
Because precipice or tipping point or whatever for these people is Trump returning — or any politician or public figure calling for freedom and putting America first. There’s no saving them with this slow reveal. They’re lost, maybe forever.

I'm not sure if its the devil's claws necessarily. My spouse absolutely refuses to believe that there is a portion of our "government" that wants a majority of us dead. I see his reaction whenever I try to discuss covid-19, the jab, human trafficking or child trafficking.
He sees what is happening but cannot believe that any of it was/is intentional. I believe that a lot of us boomers were brought up believing that the US is the best place in the world and much of that is true. Unfortunately, there are many who have attempted to ruin that belief or corrupt that concept. The only thing that we can do is be there for loved ones when/if the truth ever comes out.
If you look into the annals of history, you'll realize that we're nowhere near the tipping point. Look at how long the Soviet Union hung around before it's collapse, for instance. Even when people are being outright abused by their governments, they often just let it happen because it feels pointless to fight it

The military is full of order followers. The military is not coming to save you. If anything it would be the military kicking in your door to take your guns and send you off to the camp. No one in the government is your friend. The government is a necessary evil that you tolerate so that you don't have lynch mobs in the street enacting vigilante justice. Plus the ATF has slowly been chipping away at the 2nd amendment, and the "armed" subset of our population will be left with pea shooters if they get their way
