Taking a page from The Terminator [1984]. Do you all realize that we may have someone in our ranks, who is probably younger and does not realize it yet, who may lead a revolution by serving as inspiration to those who are still alive and fighting? What an exciting prospect. That movie, for all its time travel anomalies, has always fascinated me. Imagine if there was a John Connor, who leads the revolution against the big corporations who create robot and hunter-killer machines. we may that person in our midst - not a religious savior, but a fighter. I am not sure if am going to be alive if something like this ever happens, but it would be something.
Yeah, I don’t know if I would want to be around for that. I kinda long for the days of less technology.

Why is all the great music sung by liberals? Kinda know the answer. They find these talented people, get them famous and either pay or blackmail them to be the spokesperson for their agenda. It’s so frustrating! I love music and it can keep me from going crazy at times. I don’t worship these artists, just enjoy the music. Heck most that I listen to are dead or getting close.
Starts with printing infinite money, the budget laundering, then funding liberal art schools and programs, find talented people and brainwash them and at the same time funding media to push these same liberal arts and artists, and ultimately coerce them with money, blackmail if they are not brainwashed enough.
Cut off the magic money and all this crap disappears into thin air.

While I was waiting to be called back for my neurology app't this morning, a woman younger than I sat down, covered her face with her jacket, and started crying. A lady sitting near her asked what was wrong or if she could help her. The younger woman replied that her husband died last week. She didn't elaborate and was called back to meet her doctor before we could comfort her much. We assumed he was a soldier and she is waiting for his body to come back. It was heartbreaking.
Please keep her in your prayers. There's so much sadness.

Is there a reason to assume that? Is the doctor’s office on a military base? Not too many American military people are getting killed in foreign conflicts these days after a bunch were killed in the biden Afghanistan withdrawal debacle that happened in summer 2021.

Challenge of the day for me, it rained all night on the snow, it has stayed around the freezing mark, nothing but ice from my door to the barnyard, from my door to the car. Salt is not used on paths, as there is no concrete, it all would be leached into the grass and soil underneath. I used a ski pole to steady myself as I let the dogs into the yard. I have a bucket of wood ash I will ask my son to use on the paths. Will be wiping up dog prints all day. Please Lord, let it snow deep and soft, (at least if you fall in that, it just makes you laugh)
If the temperature is between 25-31°, urea can be used instead of salt. It's a nitrogen fertilizer, so it won't harm the grass unless too much is used.

I've seen mention of mixing wood ash and vinegar as a homemade deicer, but I've never tried it, so no idea if it works.
the ash just gives great traction so you dont slip and fall, eats right through the surface and makes it safe to walk on, its just awful messy, we dont always take our shoes off at the door, so the entryway gets grey streaks pretty fast.
Ice is the worst! Praying you thought out soon. We’ve had a few very bad ice storms. The worst was 1989, learning experience for two newlyweds. We had just two dogs and it was so bad we put them in the extra room. I used to love snow as kid but the older I get I’m not a fan. I’m happiest in the blazing hot humid summer. You will hate me, it was 73 here yesterday. Not hot enough for AC but no heat. 50 & 60 all week. I’m a whimp in cold weather. I think people that live in the bad weather get stronger from it.
Awww, I don't hate ya! I like the 4 seasons, and cold dont bother me till it gets down to 5 degrees with a wind. Its the ice, nothing can help, and I live on top of a big hill with a steep road. I like the snow, keeps the house insulated and it's so pretty.

I’m around mostly pine and oak trees, I love it from afar. I don’t have the clothes or shoes for it. Growing up my mom always bought us snow boots and snow jumpsuit for just once a year. We are crippled here when it snows or ices. The state is better today than twenty years ago. Two inches and the schools are closed for at least a week. We got 18 inches when I was about 15 and out a long time. Had to go to school on Saturday. After this incident in Raleigh the state got better on the icing the roads. Sounds like when I lived north of Seattle, it rarely snowed or froze but when it would it caused sheets of ice everywhere. It actually amused me seeing all the democrats cars in the ditch when I would drive past in my 4x4. I'm a native to the Rockies and no stranger to ice and snow. Go slower with more caution is the name of the game.
I have a 4wd Honda CRV, it gets up the hill in a snowstorm like a tractor, but ice, I've seen my hill so bad nobody could make it up. Luckily I'm only 1/2 mile to where it evens out, and there have been times I've had to back up, park the car on the side, and walk up hill sideways, tiny steps. Give me a good 3ft snowstorm anyday, its so pretty, but dismal gray days full of sleet and ice are no fun.
Sounds like the south, most can’t drive in snow. It brings out the crazies for sure. My husband will always have a 4x4 so we are good. My dad never missed work and drove a 70s beatle bug in the snow. It always tripped me out him in a bug on snowy roads.
We had "The Lookout" above the fairgrounds in high-school. A pretty gnarly 4x4 trail to get up there so it was always a bunch of jeeps, broncos or what have you. I'm going up to watch the demo derby for free of course... I get up to the top in my f-250 without much struggle to find everyone baffled around my brother who managed to get up there in a shitty old Chevy Cavalier.
I still wonder if he had it towed up just for the story but if he didn't that kid can drive anything anywhere. We grew up dealing with whatever transportation we could get our hands on in the worst conditions.

One night I was working night shift at the local hotel and my new husband comes very late to get quarters. You couldn’t tell his Nissan was black. There used to be very large sand dunes (radio island) at Morehead NC. Everyone went 4 wheelin. Now it’s got condos. I thought hubby was going to flip that truck down the hill. Boys and their toys 🤣 I can drive the four wheeler & a stick if I got to. Learned to drive in that beatle. Wish we still had it,

Apparently bird flu is taking off this year.. stock on chicken and eggs. They want to vaccinate all the chickens....
My grandfather had lots of chickens when I was a kid. Feed them every day with him. I still love the smell of chicken feed. He got some about twenty years ago and the hawks kept getting in the fence. Eventually they got them all. Haven’t figured that out yet, it was fenced on the top.
My parents have 8... some of the best eggs ive ever had. They feed them some chicken meal shit and mealworms as a snack. Every time I visit I throw grass clippings into the enclosure and the chickens go nuts. I told my parents to feed them more veggies but idk...I remember chickens loving rice too. What do you think? They need a mobile coop thing to let the chickens roam the yard.
I'd give them leaves and shavings and short chopped grasses, they need to scratch and peck, I "pasture" mine, they are free to get bugs and they do eat grass, they need some vegetation. They love a bale of hay, eat the seeds grains, but they can swallow long grasses and it gets twisted up in their crops, they can starve to death like that, so long grass can be a problem.
Thank you! I did not know chickens were carnivores like that.. seriously raptors with feathers. My dad lets them sit on his lap. There are hawks that have taken 2 of them so unfortunately we cannot free range them unless we kill the hawks. I'm pretty sure its illegal to do that but not 100%. I have tons of yard waste, once I move out of the suburbs I will definitely take your advice.
Hawks are considered bird of prey. It’s illegal to touch them if they are dead. (North Carolina law, don’t know about other states) Most likely illegal to kill. In some situations you can get a permit to kill animals killing livestock and eating crops. I don’t know the details. We have such over populated deer they eat the farmers crops. About twenty years ago farmers had fireworks going off at night. The deer got accustomed to it.
Funny you mention the black ones. We have 4 black and 4 white. The blacks ones are more skittish and not social at all. My dad says its because they remember their full sized friend get dissapeared by the hawk. I do wish I could just bait the hawk with something to end it..theres two of them that have nests right above their coop :/
If the hawk doesn't get them, the fox, coyote, owls, or a fishercat will. My trail cam is near my coop and many creatures come by looking for a meal.
I've had chickens for the past 12 years and haven't let them free-range for the past 10 unless I'm outside with them around their bed time (it's easier to get them back inside).

It has become exceedingly clear that the core driver in Australian mainstream culture has, for decades, been the corporatized wanna-be elties. Right, we don’t celebrate other countries independence type holidays. Like Canada thanksgiving, I used to see posts on social media about it. I’ve noticed the calendars I buy has every religious day and some other countries holidays. I get it but don’t want to celebrate Ramadan.

I’m so sick of the climate change scam. I type this with my grand dachshund sitting on my lap. Believe me this six pound fur ball eats less than everyone in the McDonald’s drive thru. His mom does cook his food because he’s so allergic, he eats more vegetables & quinoa than meat. I was just saying the other day if climate change was real (and those that say they care about the world collapsing from garbage) then all our food at the store wouldn’t be in plastic. For over twenty years the USA government paid China to dispose of our recycled waste. They sent it over on a barge that runs on fuel. China stopped taking it and communities had no where to take the recycling. I read an article on that about five years ago. People were outraged this was happening behind their backs. I don’t recycle! I pay for trash pickup because I live in the county. When I lived in town I recycled. We live in a very poor county with lots of people on welfare and many people don’t work unless you call gangs and drugs work. The county isn’t going to do anything for the environment unless they get money from the government.
