GOD does not 'tolerate' evil. HE destroys it. Turning the other cheek when confronting evil is not the way....
You're confusing final vengeance upon evil with the church's mission to be Christ in the world. No righteous man was more defrauded, abused, betrayed, slandered, and unjustly committed violence against than Jesus. By wicked, corrupt, evil, hypocritical cabal motivated by holding to their religious and political power. So why did God let that happen if He ever and only destroys evil? Why did Jesus specifically train and warn his disciples before their final visit to Jerusalem that all the chaotic events that would unfold for the next week would be exactly according to plan, and that he was in control the whole time? And why did the first Christians find it virtuous to follow in Christ's steps when it came to repaying evil with good?
I think what you mean to be referring to is not tolerating victimhood culture, which we should all agree. We live and breathe an era where simply being a perceived victim of anything or anyone is by definition a virtue. This is not what Christianity espouses. Christianity teaches that bearing the sufferings of persecution injustice and evil ought to be avoided and resisted as much as ethically possible, but not to take divine judgment into one's own hands. Paul reminds the church that doing good to those who slander or do evil to you, is actually heaping burning coals upon their heads -- i.e. compounding their legal guilt in the final judgment they will face if they continue unrepentant.
May have needed this sermon more than the prayer. π Thank you.
There's a difference between how we respond to other imperfect human vs the evil one himself. God does not tolerate that evil fool. Yes, the evil fool is in all of us, so we need to treat him with disdain and put him to death by the cross of Christ. We can then follow Paul to say that I am crucified with Christ and it is no longer I who lives, but Christ who lives in me!
Preach.
Vengeance is His.
Exactly, for me to not seek vengeance myself, is to prove I have faith the Lord will do as He promised. I like to say, what can I do that God cannot
Matthew 5:38-48
38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.
41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

In fact the βturning the other cheekβ is less about not fighting back, and more about raising your head back up after youβve been struck the first time. When you get slapped or hit on one cheek your head will naturally do down and to the side. When you turn the other cheek, or offer the other cheek up, you raise your face back up and look the person right in the eye. Itβs more of a challenge then anything else. Looking face to face and daring them to do it again. Itβs a power move.
Gregg Phillips still owes us answers about the "Ripcord" and his claims about Telegram
I was thinking about that when i was making this post....
We need action! Waiting is not the answer.
Doesn't turning the other cheek sometimes include a well deserved counter?
I said a similar thing above. You said it better though thank you. So many Christianβs have learned the wrong lesson from this parable. Itβs about lifting your face back up and looking them in the eye daring them to do it again.
Basically saying βFuck around and Find outβ
The Bible says somewhere to sell the clothes off your back to buy a sword if you don't have one. Or something to that effect. Point being, God doesn't want you defenseless or incapable of defending yourself!
Amen! Christians sometimes forget that we need to be warriors too

While organized religion contains a kernel of truth, it has been corrupted by the cabal. That's why the Bible calls you a filthy sinner from birth who must live in guilt and fear or the big bad vengeful "god" will punish you with eternal damnation. It was the CNN of its time. You won't find the Creator in any book written by men, only within.
Never bought into it. God is love.
Finding God "within" is the same fallibility as finding Him in other people's writings or claims. This is why He inspired man into creating the Bible and preserved it through the centuries. It's external. It's objective. It's infallible. It's easy to do for the God of all Creation.
And He did, so that we could know the truth apart from our demonstrably fallible existence as humans.
Look at it this way: Are you perfect? Are you perfectly good?
Me neither. But God is, and a perfect and just God could not allow the existence of any degree of evil, while still being perfect and just.
There's a concerted effort to water down God into only love. He is infinite love, but people try and leave out sin for a reason. Satan is happiest when nobody knows the truth. So he lies and deceives people into forsaking God and His Word and following themselves, if not also the world, all the way to damnation with him. If he can't be God, then he'll make damn well sure you can't even be with God, and are instead with him in the Lake of Fire.
Further, there is no basis for God without something concrete like the Bible. In my view there must have been an intelligent designer of our world, but without the Bible or some other holy book, there is no way to know Them. Said designer may just as well be an evil psychopath who takes pleasure in suffering. Our world is clearly governed at every level by laws and processes. The complexity, consistently, and objectivity are immense. It only makes sense that the Creator of such a world would provide a primarily objective way to know Him. Something you can cross-reference your personal relationship and feelings with to ensure the validity of them.
And I'd say there's a very good reason that the cabal only vehemently attack Christianity, while all the other religions get a near full pass despite also believing in a spiritual existence and god.
There's also a very good reason that Christianity has brought the greatest improvements to the world ever seen, and that the forsaking of it has led us to ruin so quickly.
Organized Religion has indeed been corrupted. And you won't find the Creator in any book "written by men." But there is a big difference in the Holy Scriptures. And that can be proven. You only need to type "ancient manuscripts" into Google for the proof that the Scriptures have indeed been preserved. Even the Dead Sea Scrolls offer proof of over 2,000 years of preservation.
"Written by men?":
2Pet.1
You will only find the Creator "within?" That's the original mistake.
Jer.17
Not Catholics. Only Protestants and their offshoots believe that all men are irredeemable sinners. Catholics say man is good by nature but falls into sin, but can be redeemed through confession and penance.
Bringing love to the table doesnβt necessarily mean to love the aggressor. It can also mean to love yourself in this situation, to honor God within you by not taking shit from anyone.
Very nice prayer by Gregg. Amen.
Jesus never turned the other cheek to the evil one.

I needed this today.
I am afflicted also.
I find that emotional people have nothing to hide.
But this is war.
All war is based on deception.
