Seeing all the division so carefully sown throughout this country goes AWAY when your hometown team wins the Superbowl contest and quite frankly, the party atmosphere in my town is amazing. (We didn't flip over cars when we lost in previous years either.) This years SB contained a super patriotic national anthem, 2 Christian black quarterbacks (a first) and a fly over by all women pilots (another first). As a woman pilot, that alone brought tears to my eyes. Hate on me all you want, but it's fun and it does bring Americans together for a few hours.

My folks (stepdad especially) watch football damn near all day Saturday and Sunday, even lame ass teams. My folks are older, in their 70's. Once you get older you find a lot of comfort in things that are familiar and enjoyable...and yes that would include watching football. I'm personally baffled anyone would want to give their time/money to watching woke garbage. But they enjoy it so I just let it go.
