I doubt that domestically manufactured products would be hit by these tariffs. A tariff generally applies to imported products.
Back before the Bush/Clinton swamp eliminated the old tariff system with their "'free' trade agreements" with the CCP, and others, these types of protectionist tariff's were motivation for foreign companies to build factories on US soil to avoid the tarrifs, and build a favorable reputation with US consumers. Harley-cuck-Davidson corporation even lobbied their owned congress critters to impose an extra tariff against imported motorcycles over a certain engine size (700cc) to rig the market against Japanese competition in the big bike market. Didn't work.

The IRS is definitely going away at some point. Someone in the house recently wrote a bill to do just that and Trump has said they need to go away as well. They are money launderers for the FED reserve and that’s going away too. None of it soon enough.
Trouble with tariffs is if the country providing the product is the "sole source", which in many many cases China is, the increase in government revenue is derived from that tariff increase being passed on to the customer via a higher price.
Competition is the key.
Rather that the government getting the additional revenue and waisting it again and again, how about using it to subsidize US startups that manufacture the affected products here at home, to shed all dependency on foreign goods?

This was something Ron Paul talks about. We can fund the gov with tariffs and corporate taxes, and eliminate the income tax. Like we used to.
Back in the day government spending was well under 10% of GDP which also helps quite a bit.
