Police were always there to defend TPTB That's who pays them.
That doesn't matter until TPTB feel threatened by the populus.
Police are employed by the government to protect the government. People need to realize this.
Law Enforcement....
who makes the laws...
TPTB?

POLIce -> POLIcy Enforcers. The state/government writes their policies that they pass off on the unsuspecting sheeple as "laws" that apply to them, otherwise known as statutes, codes, ordinances, mandates, etc. All are policies.
Way back in the day we-the-people had Peace Officers that were in charge of keeping the peace.
We see something like this very often in societies. I believe it is because the police force traditionally are there to protect the state, while the military are sworn in to protect the country.
There is a reason we call it a "police state" and not a "military state". The military usually only makes a coup, when the state has become too powerful.
All I'm saying is, that it is traditionally the police that takes side with (or rather, takes order from) the state. Not saying it is an absolute.
Good point, but it has been known to happen. I've never heard of the police stepping in like that.
I know a good man who is a police officer in a large American city. I've told him that the day may come when he is forced to make a choice between either following unjust orders from his higher ups or just doing the thing that is morally right. I hope it never comes to that for him, but things are getting worse and worse these days.
Ze-steecky fur ze Deja Vu!! Zes happoned here in zhe US not zo long ego no? Kek!
Police defend policy.
He who lives as a statist dies as one (unless he sees the light!) https://zeroaggressionproject.org/mental-levers/statism-statist-myths/

I thought a week or two ago the police joined the peoples side in protest in Paris, France
What am I missing?
The French don't F around when it comes to holding their politicians to account. I have gained great respect for them, Candians, and others around the world. When we flexed our muscles here we got "Jan 6th'd" and now we're exposing the DS setups. This fight is ongoing, and global.
which flag will fall first
They sure are showing us how docile we are.
Black bloc riots are nothing new to Europe. They wouldn't need to call themselves Antifa to be what Antifa is.
The regime sends their agents and minions to every uprising to craft the optics they want. Every uprising. No matter what, no exceptions.
Could be, but that's still the natural progression when you turn on the people who support you and make them feel backed into a corner.
Remember also that as bad as things feel here, other countries don't have the inconvenience of sidestepping the Constitution of the United States.
