My dad keeps asking everytime. "How did the villagers know not to take the vaxx and yet all the educated folks (including himself) took it?"
Lol... Trueπ
It's called skepticism of a so-called "authority". It's bred out of you at university.
Bingo.
The villagers were more discerning, if not intelligent.
With a big healthy dollop of skepticism.
Stupid "smart" people, as Dan Bongino calls them.
Education is self funded training for those who need either to get by, or to clear a hiring threshold. Some people understand the difference. True leaders understand the "Forging" of good people from high grade base material. it takes a truly exceptional HR person to see beyond checking boxes. That is why "who you know", and first impressions are spoken of as the keys to success. Happening to meet and impress a decision maker can make magic happen. Nepotism, on the other hand puts inept people into positions that they cannot handle.
Most of the dumbest people I know are supposedly "highly" educated. We're talking about people who went thru well more than a decade of university "schooling." And some of the smartest people I know, myself included, only graduated high school, maybe went to university for a few semestersnor a trade school, or didn't even make it out of H.S. at all. Some of those have the highest IQs of anyone I know, too. Some of the dumbest I know have high IQs, too.
It's just proof that IQ or a secondary degree, or higher, isn't a good measure of intelligence.
Ok, what are their IQs and how do you know their IQs?
back in the nineties the guy who ran the NYSE had a H.S degree and nothing else... many of of the people who just keep spending money on higher education have no plan and cannot put together a exit strategy... the smartest people figure out quickly that Higher education is incentivised to keep the best researchers in the university generating research papers for tenured professors who will keep changing their research focus to keep the golden goose a laying.
Came here to say that.
A whole lot of people are educated beyond their intelligence.
Lol. This is great. Spot on.
Having worked for many years in the science and engineering field, and also in academe, I can attest to the truth of this meme. I've known MANY highly educated people who had no common sense at all. Not all of them are dummies, but enough that forced me to double-check their work every single time.
I would alter a few words for better clarity, as well as defining the last bits, thus:
"Educated" these days is synonymous with "Indoctrinated" or "Programmed response". An "education" is nothing more than a state driven indoctrination. You see this everywhere as proof: useless Gender studies over high-demand STEM studies, for example, and the decline in critical thought or the ability to question the obvious is in severe deficit.
Also, Intelligence is indeed the consciousness of the world around you, but Wisdom is the required trait to know how to navigate through it; i.e. A lot of Intelligent folks did not have the Wisdom to know, nor listen to those who knew, that the Vax was bullshit.
It is important to differentiate words correctly, else we end up with words like "Racism", "Nazi", etc, being overused incorrectly so as to dilute their true meanings...which unfortunately get lost in the treadmarks of time.
Educated stupid
Educated idiots!
Just because you spend hundreds of hours in lectures and classes, being programmed, does not make you intelligent. Being in touch and connected with your subconscious, and having awareness and courage to act on that inner voice that tells you what feels right or wrong, thatβs intelligence.
ππ
Christians call that discernment.
Education today is the ability to memorize propaganda.
Intelligence is the ability to discern.
Above both of those is leadership and that is lacking throughout the world.
Never let your schooling get in the way of real education
I have seen both sides of the education aisle fall for their narrative. My hubby (PhD) and myself (MSEd) did not fall for it. If not for me being awake to their shenanigans, I suspect my hubby would have taken it, though
Intelligence is information processing ability.
The guy that always get the joke, the one who often has to explain a witty remark or comment because what's obvious to him, isn't to everyone else.
The more intelligent you are, the more pieces of information you can process and weigh against each other in a given amount of time, 'quick on the uptake' is a much better measure of actual intelligence.............
ππ
intelligence is the ability to learn how to perform a task ... knowing why you are doing it is wisdom
This is several months old, and while I am familiar with the topic, I had not seen this particular interview. I watched it last night. It goes over this issue.
What I found kind of fascinating though was how quiet (comparatively) Tucker was throughout. Just absorbing. It made me wonder if this was one of his red pills. Especially given what he is doing and how Desmet says we need to continue to speak out...

Quite often, the "expert" is someone who has been educated beyond their intelligence.
Intelligence is like horsepower in your brain. The brain is capable of all kinds of things.
Knowledge is what the brain works with. If you lack knowledge, the horsepower doesn't matter.
Another way to look at it is the brain is a computer. Intelligence is the CPU and programming. Knowledge is the hard drives full of files.
There are plenty of academics that can barely tie their shoes. It seems wisdom is more valuable than intelligence in seeing through the charade.
My son has a master's degree but didn't fall for the crap and same with the rest of our immediate family (husband, myself, daughters & grandkids and son's wife & kids), however my sister who is very intelligent (has a degree but not a masters) did fall for it, as did my aunt who was a nurse (saying her & uncle were "old people" and needed to take the jabs). Same on my husband's side of the family, his mom took it because my brother in-law and family hounded her to take it. My father & his wife are also brainwashed and took the jabs, and his wife used to be a nurse.
This ^^

I am all for education, since it delivers knowledge, which I highly value. However, knowledge is discrete and not universal, so an "educated" person could be deficient in many things. Intelligence is widely diffused and can be found anywhere. So can stupidity. The life test is: Can you tell the difference when you meet and speak to someone? I guess that is the test of intelligence, right there. Your own intelligence. Read, listen and learn without ceasing. That should do it for you.
