it's been going on for quite some time. why was lincoln assassinated? why did Truman defeat Dewey in the middle of the night and then drop the A bomb? why did FDR provoke the japanese in trade, position the pacific fleet like sitting duck, and ignore warnings from codebreakers that hawaii was going to be attacked?

Funny coincidence, but it was also a Johnson who took over after Lincoln's assassination. (I doubt there's a connection but a funny coincidence)
And there was something about their secretaries having related names to both admins. Will try to look it up.
Kennedy had a secretary named Evelyn Lincoln, but Lincoln did not have a secretary named Kennedy. It was an urban legend that took the truth a bit further afield.
It could even have been a psy-op the CIA started to distract people from the truth of their evil act. I am wary of any Urban legends that is false. TY though, fren, for looking it up.

Ooh, I've never thought about the Truman vs. Dewey election before. Dewey was projected to win that one based on the polling, according to my based high school US history teacher.

Regarding JFK/Nixon, was there a 3AM ballot drop? I heard they literally just had people voting multiple times all over the state. Vote early, vote often.
Truman/Dewey happened in 1948. The A-bombs were dropped in 1945. I know what you mean about the DS making sure elections come out the right way, but Truman had already dropped the bombs long before that infamous election.

Most have been bad, starting with John Adams and his "direct tax".
There's a few honest ones. Taft (though he lied about his health, as did others), Kennedy, and I know it's unpopular but I think Carter was honest. Worthless, but honest.
IMO though, the most honest president we've had since George Washington was Gerald Ford. Sure, he lost the subsequent election (wasn't a re-election) but from what I've read he didn't really want the job, and was happy to see it go.
He was republican, but with many moderate views. When you make both sides unhappy, you're probably doing the job right.
I think a national lottery for presidental candidates would be ideal. Lottery picks 6 random citizens age 35-75. Then everyone votes. Electoral College winner gets president. Popular vote winner gets vice president. If the same, the runner up gets it. A single 5 year term, but the process happens every 4 years, so the newbies get a year overlap to learn the job. Get in. Do your job. Get out. Collect a pension. Problem solved.
In my lifetime (and aside from GEOTUS of course), the only one that comes to mind would be Reagan, but "they" were able to box even him into a corner.

The SES is the one that burns me up the most. These parasites in Washington DC are guarranteed a job for life, its not the real world. The SES makes sure that their operatives remain in vital positions to spy and report to their Deep State masters. If President Trump gets back in the WH he needs to dismantle the SES.
