Six Republicans voted present when Schiff was censured. Five of these Republicans are members on the Ethics committee.
Here are the names of the 6 Republicans in second paragraph:
If you read any article about Schiff's censure, you would see that Schiff is also going to be investigated by the Ethics committee.
Look here in the second paragraph:

Now, look here at the names on the Ethics committee for the Majority.

I think it would look like a conflict of interest if the members of the Ethics committee voted to censure Schiff and then later investigated him. They would look as though they already found Schiff guilty of crimes before the investigation began. By voting "Present" they kept any bias out of future investigations.
Representative Luna made this comment: "For those wondering who voted present: members who sit on ethics traditionally vote “present” as they do not weigh in on investigations prior to them coming to committee. This is typically the case on both sides." https://twitter.com/realannapaulina/status/1671679309277175809?t=L0I-le8Sdw3L_cAn8r7DVA&s=19
Good stuff.
Cheers fren...
That was great Information, thank you for the comment from Rep. Luna.
My pleasure... Only trying to help... Cheers fren...
Random shower thought: is she related to Jonathan Luna? The AUSA that was found dead under mysterious circumstances?
I honestly don't know... Cheers fren...
Its funny that we were down 20 votes last time they voted for this, but this time there is surplus votes. Loving this movie.
Here is why: Pelosi ‘fined’ all of those Reps. because they told her to take her masking policy and shove it up her ass. Those same people are still CURRENTLY legally fighting those bullshit fines. If they voted YES to a fine on Schiff it would have been a DE FACTO agreeing that Pelosi had the legal authority to fine them when she did. They had to vote no to the fine, not the censure.
Devin Nunez said as much in his X22 interview. I didn't know about the Pelosi fines, but his point was that they didn't want to set a precedent as the House has never fined other members before.
I saw that too. Still funny that the timing worked out such that he was censured on the same day that the dems were "ceding their time" to him to ask questions of Durham, as if he was some sort of learned elder statesman, instead of the criminal hack that he is.
Another excellent point, you all are on a roll.
If this were reversed, every dem would have voted for the censure, no matter if they were on the House Ethics comity or not. The (R) would cry foul, and then do nothing but shake their fists in the air and say, "we'll get'em next time".
This! screw tradition go for the jugular. This is war.
matter of opinion
Democrats show up unified to the hilt, ready to fight tooth and nail, steadfast and confident in their convictions right or wrong, and willing to do whatever it takes to win (despite being fundamentally hateful toward America, the people, and the Constitution and deeply evil at heart).
Then there's Republicans. Not unified, ready to fight, steadfast, or confident; and unwilling to do what it takes to win.
Call it a uniparty, but the above describes a vast yawning chasm of difference between the two parties.
Is there a book on war? 😉
Several, the most famous was written by a retired chinese(taiwanese) general.
WAR MANUEL
Voting present did nothing to change the outcome. Strategically, it's the right move. Because this is war.
👍🏻
Or they could be holding out to exonerate him. At this point you just do what is right. Screw “how it looks.” That game has been played. I hope you are right. It’s defiantly weird that all the normal rinos voted to censure. But shiff is the worst.
You would never want to be accused of bias, be above reproach, in this way you do not give anyone ammunition to say your bias, in action, deed or word.
He stands proud. Hmm...wish someone asked him if he was proud after the Standard Hotel incident. He is a homo murderer.
I would have loved to see someone say something like "I'm glad to see you hold such high Standards', just to watch him squirm...
He wouldn't have caught it.
Very Plausible. Great Analysis, You deserve every up-vote on this you have received, and then some... Thank you for your service! o7
Good point I totally missed.
This has merit, IMHO.
Thanks for the clarification.
Even bit characters are a necessary part and add a certain flair to any movie!
4 of them are on it. This feels a lot more planned than I previously thought.
Voting present also makes them a reliable case witness. Because they were physically there
Tells me that the bulk of congress k ows he is guilty af and is going to try and get justice.

Great clarification anon, thanks
Wish I could give this 17 updoots!
Thank you so much for your help and I understand now about things happenings. I like when people do this type of clarification. Make things easier to comprehend.
Nice find.
I got your point but this is really to much of “optics” and white gloves.
If you’re right - it looks like they play stupid now, as if they didn’t know what’s going on and then out of a sudden they will vote “corrupted” during the ethics committee and they will act to be surprised by the evidence and the final results as if they never thought he should be put in front of the committee in the first place at all.
If they want to put the guy in front of the committee they already have an opinion that he deserves it. At that point there’s nothing bad to express the opinion and vote.
That’s my view. You can prefer white gloves. I think people have had enough anyway.
Democrats have twisted the law to arrest their political rival and Republicans are worried about the appearance of bias in future strongly worded letters.
Pathetic.
False hope to me, those on the ethics committee who voted present, will give him a pass with the investigation finding. IMHO.
