I mean I thought it was an open secret that Modern Art was in essence money laundering.
And that many ‘Artists’ are gullible morons who get taken advantage of and convinced they have talent. Even though they aren’t really talented and their inane scribbles are not in fact the next big art style.
Frankly you can find better Artists on DeviantArt then you do in a modern art exhibition.
To be fair to crazy Artists though. Some of the people we regard as Masters now. Weren’t exactly what one would call mentally stable when they were alive. Vincent Van Gogh being a prime example.
Well, not all of it of course....
A painter colleague of mine summed up being an artist in a very refreshing way. Instead of being pretentious, understand that our role is largely to put the right attractive colors of the correct value, in the right place, on a canvas. That can apply to traditional themes or more modern ones. If discordant aggitating marks and color choices are put in art and soothe no one, the collectors of it are not seeking harmony and neither are the artists. Art collectors who buy disturbing themes are themselves mentally unhealthy... what they have on their walls reveals who they are. Think Podesta, for one.
That was something that I had to learn. I had been raised with the idea that all modern art was a scam but once I saw a few pieces in real life - some of them on huge canvases - I got the point. The photo process and shrinking them down to book size just didn't do them justice.
It isn't always that way, certainly. I can look at one modern piece and enjoy it then turn around and laugh at some piece of pretension that's in the same gallery.
I paint and I know a few artists. It's an interesting subculture, for sure.
There have been a few solid links on money laundering through the art world on here. Sorry I don't have them on hand.
There is a movie coming up on this topic, Kill Room. So I think white hats are prepping to reveal this form of money laundering to the general public as the cabal uses it widely.
I get a bad feeling when I look at that so it could also be demonic. Who knows what happened when it was painted or if it was part of a ritual with someone’s blood. This could then mean they gain demonic power when owning this and to a satanist, that might be priceless but I call that condemning you and your family as these demons just want to kill them even if they use them for power. God punishes these evil people according to their deeds in hell if they don’t repent.
How do I get tax payers money into my buddies hands? He becomes an artist and the mayor's office needs a new painting. The gallery owner, curator, agent, consultant, shippers, agencies of record, art historian and security all get paid.
"Art" has always been a scam. There are some really impressive pieces of art but in today's society it is talentless grifters trying to mount cultured..
The message behind modern art is a lot more important than the art itself, it doesn't matter about the art as long as the message is delivered. The subtext is everything.
"Here is my masterpiece, my hand and a glass of beer in a tension of opposites. Cheers!"
At one semi-recent auction hunter Biden and a picasso were sold......
Hunter Bidens sold at a higher price than Picasso 🤮😷
To the OP: ‘Always Has Been’ meme applies here. Any normal human should feel Disgust and Alarmed at anyone shamefully trying to launder money and kids in plain sight.
Hey call the police someone stole my 2 year old Granddaughter's Drawings

You are spot on fren.
I have found literal MASTERPIECES on both FURRY and ANIME imageboards of all places, and yet THIS SHIT is what gets put in galleries?
They might as well put actual porn in there...OH WAIT, THEY ALREAY DID
not just money laundering, but human trafficking as well.

People's gullibility is embarrassment
I buy a gallon of Kilz when I see this "art" on the wall in my house.
This is three year old kid level.
Pretty sure a 3 year old could do much better.
All this is a scam to wash money.
Crap art. They think we are stupid. Criminals
Jackson Pollock anyone?
Jackson Pollock's in person are impressive (yes they look different than pictures in a book or on a screen), but I get what you're saying.

See Inigo Philbrick's case recently too.
Wow. The guy must have a BIG box of crayons.
"My, what big CRAYONS you have, Grandma...."
It's embarrassing when people stand in front of this crap in galleries pontificating.
I remember when I was living in Ottawa and the fake news was all gushing about Voice of Fire.
Blatant money laundering.

Kindergarten scribbles. "Tell me what this one is, dear."
Money laundering
I think my 4 year old granddaughter is a budding artist then. She could make these too 👀
SHE COULD BE WORTH MILLIONS—wait
Lolol my baby is worth TRILLIONS - not that I'm biased or anything 😁
It's a way to launder large quantities of cash. Nothing to do with art.
