While X sues Media Matters (and their co-conspirators) AND the Texas AG Ken Paxton opens an investigation into Media Matters as well. This Truth Social one is "bigly", really warms my heart. It almost feels like a convergence of sorts.
And here's a MOAB. Plaintiff is asking for $1.5 BILLION:
"... a. An award of compensatory, special, and punitive damages, as well as
disgorgement of any and all income Defendants have made off of their
lies about TMTG, in the amount of $1,500,000,000.00; ..."
Here we go. By the time the dumping of information goes from drip, drip, drip to flood, sometime next year, the corrupt MSM will be in the hands of the white hats and patriots.
The bull horn for the evil ones will be gone!
The complaint alleges that these media organizations conducted a coordinated campaign to falsely report that Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. had lost $73 million. This figure is a complete fabrication and is not found in any public Securities and Exchange Commission filing by the company.
The complaint asserts that this was a deliberate effort to damage the reputation and financial standing of Trump Media & Technology Group, hinder its access to capital, and negatively impact its anticipated merger with Digital World Acquisition Corporation.
The $73 million loss figure does not appear anywhere in the DWAC S–4 filing, and the Defendants knew that it did not—or were at least reckless in their disregard for the truth—because each of them had access to the publicly-available S-4 that was the purported basis of their articles. Indeed, many defendants cited to and/or directly quoted from the filing,” according to the complaint.
“Another false statement made by 19 of the 20 Defendant (all except for Axios), was to claim that the SEC filing showed a loss of $50 million in 2022. No such loss is shown in the DWAC S-4.”
“As a result of these widespread lies, TMTG has suffered actual damages. Committed and potential investors have reacted negatively to the false news of TMTG supposedly losing $73 million, and TMTG’s ability to raise additional capital has been impaired.”
“Defendants are ostensibly in the business of publishing factual information. However, their business models revolve around generating clicks, and driving views to their websites. In this case, Defendants used the occurrence of a news event—the filing of DWAC’s S-4 with the SEC, a significant milestone in TMTG’s proposed merger with DWAC—as a pretext to intentionally or recklessly report the fabricated $73 million loss figure and sensationalize the news with anti-Trump, click- bait articles.”
“The incredible circumstances of all 20 Defendants publishing nearly identical articles, within hours of one another, using the same fabricated figures that appear nowhere in the S-4 filing upon which they ostensibly rely, would seem nearly miraculous were it a coincidence. Instead, this chorus of falsehood evinces a deliberate, malicious, and coordinated attack on TMTG and Truth Social,” the company said in the complaint.
South Carolina. I’m wondering if I should make a new account… I thought that waiting list was over shortly after it officially launched… that’s when I signed up.
I have been getting all emails about if the server went down or anything and it was making me upset… Thank you for letting me know. I will log out and make a new account.
Well, the requested amount equates to a rough average of $75M each. Smaller outfits will feel that sting more than the larger ones, but with declining viewership and (perhaps) dwindling DS coffers (just a guess on my part) it may cripple some of the firms. At very least the BoDs will be under scrutiny by shareholders to have some heads roll. Remember that viewers equates to what's called "eyeballs" in that industry and their advertising revenue is based on that. As their advertising revenue craters so does their stock price and that tends to make shareholders very unhappy. The reason why so many viewers have already walked away from FNM is due to a loss of trust (as they awaken) and this debacle is going to kneecap them in this arena.
Your question is a good one. It will be interesting to see what shakes out from this. Some of the mega conglomerates may choose to spin off some of their toxic FNM holdings/firms if it looks as if they're in trouble. The psychological impact on their leftist viewers may also shake them awake a bit, jar them from their mind prisons. This suit is actually a very big deal at a very good time. IMHO.
This is likely more about exposure and introduction of evidence than collection of monetary damages or loss of viewers and revenue. These BOD are most likely compromised already by DEI and have no stake in the success or profitability of the companies because they are actually paid by outside influencers. Think Target, Bud Light, etc. They have no interest in the health of the company.
I just want to point out the timing here. Notice how this happens the same time Musk files suit? How could Musk not be on the White Hat team? This was obviously planned well in advance with a slew of white hats pretending to have distance from each other.
The hunter is now the hunted.
YEs! Exactly! So much good news these days!
Against 20, you say? Against media companies, you say? Interdasting!

campaign, by no less than 20 major media outlets, to attack Trump Media &
Technology Group (“TMTG”) and its social media platform, Truth Social, by falsely
reporting that TMTG had lost $73 million. ..."

Being as I own a bit in this company, I can't wait for them to win. Bigly. 🔥

.... by the way TS statement is worded makes me think that specific amount was a trap to catch a rat :)
I put this on the Media Matters lawsuit topic, but it works here too:

Is this case enough to do real damage to the MSM? Because they get sued all the time and just keep on rolling like nothing happened.
